MOH here. It’s down to several weeks before my bride’s bachelorette party that I have planned. Only 4 out of 14 have given me the their portion of money we all agreed upon for activities and hotel stay. How the deuce do I get these girls to give me the money wthout sounding like a ‘zilla??

Get one of the other bms to send out a reminder email that money is due. Ensure the email has a set date in it Because it could be as simple as they forgot or didn’t realise they needed to pay yet

This was my biggest fear when I planned my friends party. It took me a few emails and mass texts to get it done, but I had zero people default. I would contact all of them and be polite but firm. I would also tell them they would be responsible for booking their own hotel room if they don’t pay by the date and include the information.

tattoosarah: I’d just send them a friendly e-mail, maybe you have some updates you can share with them about the bachelorette etc. and then include something like “thanks for everyone who already sent the $, others please remember to send it by date”<br />sometimes it’s just not clear to others if something is needed by a certain day… maybe some of them plan to just hand you the money in cash at the bachelorette…

Email each personally instead of a mass email- mass emails are easier to ignore or forget! A direct email that politely says:
Can’t wait to see/meet you in _ weeks! XXXX is getting pretty excited about her bachelorette party now that it’s so close, hope you are too! Just finishing up a few last details, including collecting your payment. It’s $___ and I will need it no later than ___ __ in order to finalize our arrangements. To make it even easier, you can send me payment via PayPal, here is my PayPal info:______ Let me know if you have any problem doing so! See you soon!
Straightforward, friendly tone, direct to them. (And I really do highly highly recommend offering PayPal as the preferred option in this scenario. Mailed checks can be a nightmare!)
