I am a bride in my early 40’s…..never been married. My Maid/Matron of Honor asked me what I want for a bachelorette party. I am not up for a pub crawl….I mean who wants to see somebody my age getting smashed and dancing on a table, really? I don’t want to inculde his sister or sister -in-law because frankly if they weren’t “family” they wouldn’t even be friends. I am having a SMALL wedding 85% is family and most of my friends that are coming aren’t close local.
I would really like a spa day with my Maid/Matron of Honor, mother, officiant (who is a bff) and the BM’s wife – a close friend….
What do you all think?

Sounds perfect to me. I’m 32 and I would much rather have a wine and spa day maybe pick up a local accoustic band later in the evening and still be able to chat. I don’t get to be around these wonderful ladies I call family I chose very often. I want to spend time with them, not piece together last nights events and hover over a toilet the following day.

A spa day sounds heavenly! And relaxing. 🙂

For my sister’s wedding, I (her MOH) took her, her best friend, and myself to a day at the spa (massages & pedis). Then, we met up with all the local women at a laid back winery and sipped wine & played cards! It was casual & fun. I think it’s a totally acceptable way to have a bachelorette party!

@les105: That sounds nice, but I am trying to avoid meeting up with anybody else, LOL. His family is so not my style…..I don’t even want them at the wedding, which is another LONG story for another section….so axing them out of the bachelorette is going to happen, LOL. The 4 other friends are far enough away that its a hassle for anything but the wedding 🙂

@Ms. Gertie: Understandable! I think just the spa day with the women you want there would be a fun bachelorette party 🙂
