A couple weeks ago was the Bachelorette party for my best friend Rose, who is getting married.. As her MOH, it was up to me to plan the day.
Rose is not your typical gal. Her version of a good time? MUD RUN! For those of you that don’t know what that is, imagine running a 5K (3.1mi) on a huge obstacle course that has been soaked down so it’s nothing but mud. Now imagine running the course while in a wedding dress, and your girls are in horrible out-dated bridesmaid dresses.
Yes, that is what Rose wanted! So we planned a weekend around the mud run.
Party started on Friday night, with an outing to go bowling. Stipulation was to wear the terrible bridesmaid dress of your choice. Rose got her wedding dress for $30 from a thrift store. For those of you in SoCal, 300 Pasadena bowling alley was AWESOME! We reserved two lanes, for the group price you get food which you order in advance, and you get your own personal attendant for the night which runs you drinks, gets more food and makes sure you’re having a good time.
We made sure Rose stayed well hydrated
Two of the bridesmaids. It was awesome because of the four of us, two are from out of town, and both made a special trip just to be there for bachelorette weekend. Julie and out of town BM Sara.
After bowling, we checked into the hotel for a sleep over, and then wandered around town for a bit.
The next morning, it was off bright and early to the Mud Run down at the Rose Bowl
We had our very own reserved section along the course so our friends could cheer us on.
Rose also went to the dollar store and got us all bouquets to carry during the run.

Then, the run began!
As did the muddification!

There were crawling obstacles
And hula hoops!
All the BMs together
Rose’s train got ripped off at some point, so I carried it.
Sky, Rose’s brother, was there to snap photos
Hubby was there too. I made a sign for him.
Then it was time for some after pictures
Rose made a special sign since her new last name will be Meiri
Bouquet post run
After the run, it was time to shower at the hotel, check out and make a dash to the Huntington Gardens for tea in the Rose garden and to wander about the grounds.

I’d say, it was an extremely successful and awesome weekend, and a great way to welcome Rose to the married club.
