My best friend is getting married in July. I just received the invite from the MOH for her bachelorette party. The invite asked us to bring lingerie to build her collection as a married woman. Is this common? I already don’t have the cash for the hotel, party boat and drinking we are doing that night and now I have to bring her a gift? I’m annoyed and don’t know how to respond. I know she’ll be really upset if I don’t attend but I feel uncomfortable not showing up without a gift!

This is very common. It doesnt hae to be expensive lingerie.. Could you afford a bra and pantie set from Walmart?

Yeah I think that is pretty typical for a bachelorette party.

Yes, it’s pretty common these days. It doesn’t have to be expensive. Some good options:
- Go in with somebody else on a nice set
- Look for cheapo bra/panty set or nightie from WalMart or TJ Max or some other discount store
- Go to a used/cheap shoe store and get some mules in her size (heels that just have a fabric band across the toe). The heel should look nice but the fabric part can be crappy, because it gets covered. Then buy some marabou feathers (or a feather boa) and hot glue the marabou over the fabric at the toe. They are very coquettish and both cute and sexy.
- Toys. They aren’t really lingerie, but they’re in the same ballpark. Think fun lube or frilly handcuffs or a vibrator. Obviously this is very dependent on your friend and who will be there. Might be a little awkward if grandma is there when she pulls out a butt plug. Just sayin’
