Hey ladies just wanted to throw something out as a public service announcement if anyone else is trying to rent a house for a bachelorette party…
My friends and I are planning to go skiing for a weekend for my bachelorette. We’re a mature group of professional women (I’m 33, invitees are late 20s-early 40s) but…since we were dumb and wrote “bachelorette party” as the “purpose of trip” on our rental application we were DENIED! Arg!
I talked to the lady in the rental house reservation place – she totally gets who we are and that we’re trying to have a low key weekend akiing to celebrate instead of getting our ya-yas out at Coyote Ugly or whatever – but she advised us that we should put a different reason like “grad school friend reunion” or “ladies’ weekend away” (which are mostly true) when we submit another application. She said that bachelorettes tend to behave but wild bachelor parties basically ruined it for all the “bach-” celebrations out there.
Just thought I’d pass that tidbit along for anyone else who may be shooting for a house rental to celebrate!
