No Rain Plan
Our Barn venue has an outdoor ceremony area and then normally the reception and dinner takes place inside the barn. There is a small outdoor patio area where the happy hour is supposed to take place.
My Rain Plan
Get married inside the barn. Put a large enough tent outside on and around the patio area to still have an outdoor happy hour while the catering team and florist set up the barn for the reception and then have reception inside the barn as normally planned.
Tent rentals are so expensive! This is an extra $1000 just in case it rains. Super frustrating. I am allowed to cancel the rental up to 10 days prior to the wedding and will only have to pay $500 if I do that, but 10 days prior won’t really have accurate weather forecasts.
What did brides do that were afraid of not having a rain back up plan and needed to buy a tent? Have any of you waited last minute to book your tent? I’m afraid if I wait there won’t be any tents available or that I’ll end up spending way more in the long run. I was going to have chivari chairs, but I ended up downgrading to simple white chairs to save on half the costs to help make up for this additional cost.
