As Mother of the Bride, I’m trying to come up with something fabulous to place behind the cake table and be a backdrop for the wedding couple’s “cake pictures”. It must be tall as the groom is 6’2! Currently, it’s just a corner of the Winery with nothing but beige/white wall. I don’t want the usual lattice screen and it must be free standing. We are not able to attach anything to the walls of the Winery.
I thought of using several bi-fold doors, painting them and adding some wall mounted candlelight but wondering if it needs to be “softer”.. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated!

You could use the bifold doors on the sides with some draping between them- a simpler version of this:
or, I love the look of the mosquito netting designed for a bed as it is used in this picture:
hung from the ceiling, it would provide the focal point and the soft draping behind the cake table.
For my daughter’s wedding , the cake table was covered with a floor length white cloth and topped with a large navy organza square (not a topper, large enough to puddlle on the floor), that I had custom embroidered in navy so the embroidery was subtle, with the names of the bride and groom and the wedding date. The embroidery was placed so that it was centered directly below the cake, below the edge of the table top, and the organza was gathered and swagged to focus on that area.

not knowing anyhting about the decor of the wedding, other than it is in a winery, burlap could also be used for draping which might be more in keeping with the winery.
You could still use the bifold doors, painted a darker color. Sticky back velcro tape makes a quick and easy job of the draping.
