I really want a back drop necklace, similar to the ones below. My dress is sweetheart and I think it’d add a little fun pop to the back of my dress. FI said they were trashy… My MOH eluded that she wasn’t a huge fan in much nicer words. 🙂
Am I missing something? Are they hideous and I don’t realize it? Are my FI and MOH crazy, and they’re actually elegant? Figured I’d solicit advice from you bees!

I don’t know… Don’t love it but I don’t hate it either. Though it just looks like excess chain. Maybe a more ornate style? Hmm.

I’ve never even known these were a thing before so I have no opinion on them.
But I would avoid with a ten foot pole if your FI doesn’t like them 😉 I thought I liked pick ups in dresses but I showed if a pic and he said he liked everything except the pick ups. So I vetoed my plan of adding pick ups to a similar dress. If he’s telling you what he doesn’t like, I’d heed that advice!

Jennifer Lawrence wore one the night she won the Oscar. 🙂 so I don’t think they are trashy. I like them!

@raspberrymojito: I LOVED Jennifer Lawrence’s necklace.
@kb7: I think they only work with really simple dresses with a low or dramatic back. The ones you posted I don’t love as much as some others I’ve seen, I agree with PP’s that those kind of look like excess chain.

i really think it depends on what the back of your dress looks like, how you will be wearing your hair and your choice of veil.

If DH thought it was trashy, I’d probably listen to him. I’m pretty conservative dressing wise compared to DH so it would be odd for him to say anything. If he hated it, he’d be tugging the crap out of the part that hangs down all night to bug me. I also don’t get the point in the first pic, her hair covers the majority of it. I agree with PP tho, if your dress is really simple lines, plain and not much bling, I could see having one. But with the veil, your hair, the dress and than the necklace it might be too much. You want to be the center not a necklace.
