I guess it would depend on the amount of lyrca/spandex. Some shapers have no real support or "sucking in" quality. Your best bet would probably be to check out some in a local department store because not all of them are made the same.
Also, to me, it seems like the cups are hitting the model very oddly and may not offer the support you need.
