… WERE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We did our cupcake trials on Saturday and the maple bacon one was great. It tasted like a really high quality maple syrup was in the batter, and the smell was to die for. The little bacon crumbles were like crunchy, salty sprinkles… soo so good.
As of now we will definitely serve Maple Bacon, Cookie Dough (yellow cake, chocolate buttercream, and cookie dough shoved in the center before baking!), Red Velvet, and Chocolate with Vanilla. We might do pistachio… she is working on a recipe for me (it was special request).
Now I just have to figure out how many to order of each… all I know is that they sell out of maple bacon at the store by noon each saturday (the only day they offer it!)

Oh my goodness – that sounds absolutely heavenly! I love all things bacon! I wish I could try one right now, lol.

I knew somebody who had bacon cupcakes as a groom’s cake. I don’t eat meat, so I didn’t try them, but it sounds like a neat idea. I think I’ll stick with red velvet…yum! It’s so neat you can have a variety of flavors.
Sidenote: is it just me, or is bacon making a serious comeback? If you’re in IN, have you heard of “pigs in the mud” = chocolate covered bacon, it was a big deal at the fairs, I hear.

at first I was like “ewww” but then I thought about it and now Im drooling. They actually sound intriguing and oddly good. I LOVE maple syrup on my crispy bacon, so the cupcake must just add more sweet. Yummmmm.

mmm … it’s much easier to stomach when I think about it as a breakfast food — like pancakes or french toast. Both go great with bacon, so sure, I’d give bacon cupcakes a try. 🙂

@mary-alice-me…. yes we live in indianapolis and tried the chocolate covered bacon… one word- DISGUSTING!! I am a new bacon lover, and FH had to pull me away from the griddle where in my first months of bacon-eating I would cook myself like, SEVEN strips. I get it now… best in moderation. But anyways we think we’re going to LOVE it.
It was COLD, sweaty, LIMP, chewy, fatty, and the chocolate was like something out of an easy-bake oven. $5, we each took a bite and threw it out. SO SAD! I bet crispy bacon drizzled in dark chocolate would be divine! Too bad 🙁
