    I know this is probably a really unpopular opinion especially on the boards but...

    I HATE ANTHROPOLOGIE!!

    I think it all looks like old lady stuff!

    Is there anything that is SUPER popular that you try to like but just can't?

    Ballet flats. I love them and think they look cute, but on me they make me feel stumpy and I'm 5'10"

    Hehe. Duck! I like some of the styles there, but some are so little girley cutesy it makes me want to go barf. Or, put on a pair of camoflage overalls. And, it's way too expensive. When I feel the need for thrift store stuff I go to an actual thrift store.

    Wow, that DID feel better.

    Mermaid dresses. I just don't understand them. I think they only look good on about 10% of the people who buy them.

    I don't like Baker's Twine. I think it looks like dental floss. There! I finally said it! ;)

    Skinny cargos. I hate them only because I'm jealous that I can't wear them without looking very stumpy/bulky.

    I actually like Anthro, though! Dresses and tops, not shoes at all, though. The sweaters are hit or miss.

    @MsJeep23:

    It does, doesn't it? It's just a bunch of orthopedic looking shoes and cardigans!!

    No offense if that's your thang. I get that Anthro markets a certain aesthetic.

    @An Alaskan Bride:

    LMAO, as a user of baker's twine, I have to LOL. You're kind of right.

    In honesty, I'm not impressed by 90% of the wedding world.  I truly wish I could have a wedding reception that resembles an Irish Ceili dance party mixed with Lothlorien, but I know neither of those are possible, and aren't 'bridal' and that none of our family members would join in.  They'd look at me like I'm eccentric and demented.  So I'm just doing a basic food and dance reception to please everyone else. :(

    Also not a fan of Anthro, it looks like my grandmas house and closet exploded. Just not my taste. I already wore some of that stuff once, I will be damned if I am going to wear it twice. I noticed on some of the sites that shoulder pads are coming back also, I shudder at the thought.

    Tulle... I hate it. With a passion. And wedding gowns made with a lot of tulle makes me want to puke. I also hate the disney princess look. And tiara's.... Oh don't get me started!!!

    I like a small percentage of Anthro stuff. Some dresses, some home stuff. I think it's cute...that being said I don't own one single item from there because it is so kick-you-in-the-crotch-spit-on-your-neck expensive. Ef that.

    Lady Sapphire, I would totally rock your reception if you even hinted at Lothlorien!

    That being said, I too can't get into the Anthro/vintage craze. It shames me to say it. I think it might be because I'm too lazy though.

    I always see cute stuff in Anthro's ads, but never in the store! Kinda like JCPenny...where is the good stuff? Not to mention SO OVERPRICED!

    Also tiaras. Ugh. Hate.

    @MissHoneyBun:

    Every time I look at Anthro's prices I think about the Honey Badger video on YouTube. "We're just gonna charge you $90 for a skirt with a squirrel on it, how's that sound, stupid? Thanks for spending $200 on socks, stupid!"

    Toms, those shoes are hiddy. When people are like "oh but they donate a pair to needy children for every pair you buy" all I can think is why are you punishing those poor children?

    Tiaras... bleh.

    J Crew. Ultra chic soccer mom with the price tag to match. (But then I am just jealous lol)

    I don't hate the bridal world in general. I love any expression of a couple's personalities as they celebrate their love. What I hate is the expectation that a wedding is "only" a wedding if it contains a specific set of elements and rituals. Lady Sapphire should be able to rock her wedding any way she wants :)

    @ohheavenlyday: I totally agree-- I don't like Anthro either.

    @LGenz: I also think they're overpriced for what they are, so they better being doing something with all the mark up!

    My confession? (I sincerely hope I don't offend anyone who has one/ has made one.) Card boxes that look like wedding cakes... I really don't get this. You already have a wedding cake, right? Why does the card box need to look like a wedding cake, too?

    @LGenz: lol! My thoughts exactly! I am totally not on the Tom's train, and I have thought the same thing--who says every kid in the world needs a pair of Toms?!

    I also can't stand mascara. All the makeup experts say it is the ONE makeup item every woman should wear every day, bla bla bla... I just can't stand it and will never wear it!! Take that, makeup experts!

    :-)

    Twilight.  I have tried to read the book several times now.  The first attempt was three years ago.  I never made it past the second chapter, because I just get so bored.

    Designer crap... I have never found something that i felt was even remotely worth paying that kind of money for. And I feel like the uglier something is the more it costs with the whole designer thing a good majority of it is unusually ugly. I really dislike the Vera Wang line that everyone is so excited for...

    @Mrs.tobe: The movies didn't excite me much either, but at least now I know the storyline.  I really just wanted to know, because everybody kept telling me what a great story it was. Oh well.

    Ironically, I like the Sookie Stackhouse series and True Blood. Although I prefer the books to the TV show.  It's basically the same as Twilight, only more action and for adults.

    One-shouldered anything.  It sucks b/c at some stores (like Cache) almost everything is one-shouldered!  I'm just so over the trend.  Either let me wear a regular bra or go both shoulders.

    I like Anthropologie but FI hates it!  He thinks it's all too flowy/hippie/old, I think a lot of their tops are super cute.
