Today my bridesmaid, MOH & mom went shopping to Davids Bridal to choose the bridesmaid dresses. We have looked everywhere else and haven’t been able to find anything so we decided after much reluctance on my part to try Davids Bridal.
So I called two weeks ago setup an appointment to look for bridesmaids & mother of the bride. Today we arrived ON TIME and the greeter said the salesperson would be us shortly. So we waited and no one came, so 10 minutes go by and I asked again about the sales person and they said it would be another minute. 15 minutes later the person finally came, directed us to dressing rooms. I came prepared with some favorites printed out, sizes written down of the girls for the her (to make it easier). she tells us to start selecting dresses and she would be back….So we waited for her to pull the favorites *never did* basically we did everything. We were almost completely ignored and had to call her over a few times to ask questions about things.
So towards the end when we had the final dresses & I asked her to write them down on my sheet she said, “no problem & have a good day” & walked off. I was ticked because we were ordering the dresses today. I had to call her back and tell her we were getting the dresses and the girls needed to be measured. She looked pissed and walked off, finally I called another girl over & asked for help. Turns out she was the manager she apologized & helped us finish up our appointment.
I was upset she was receiving commission off of our order because she didn’t help at all, she was bouncing between 2 appointments, and acted pissed whenever I asked a question. Usually I am really laid back with sales consultants because I work in sales, but not today. The only reason we ordered the dresses today because they were on sale.
BUT man I have never had such a bad experience before. Sorry to vent so long but geesh it is still irritating me.

I had a few awful experiences at David’s Bridal and one fantastic one during the process of getting my wedding gown, the BM dresses for my wedding and the BM dress for my sister’s wedding. Usually the consultants are much less helpful for the BM dresses. I’ve never had any BM dresses pulled for me.
Unfortunately David’s Bridal has a huge selection of wedding dresses in the lower price range, and they have a huge selection onf BM dresses in just about every color, so they are able to get away with not having the best customer service. I was SO angry that the worst of all the consultants got the commission for my wedding dress, when she was so rude, as opposed to the consultant who helped me try it on again when I went to order it. She was so helpful and nice. It’s really hit or miss. But I would be vocal about your experience and ask for more help until you get it from someone at the store. They really should be striving for better service.

Yeah, I think because we were used to other stores that we visited we were used to their service. It was just straight out pissy.

The way she treated you is not okay, regardless of how many people she was trying to help. However, at David’s they are almost always bouncing between two appointments. You only get a consultant to yourself if the store isn’t busy. That’s their policy.

I would have told the manager she doesn’t deserve any commission for the horrible service she offered you.
Sorry you had such a bad experience!

I had one good and two bad experiences. The sad part is one of the bad is when I went there to try on wedding dresses. A bridesmaid with me had to help zip me up and out of dresses because the consultant wasn’t around. I even had my BM go pull more dress for me to try otherwise I would have been waiting. I can honestly say that I’ve had to pull dresses everytime I’ve tried anything on at Davids. The service is lacking to say the least. I love the store I got my wedding dress from because of the personal service.

Booooooo!! I’m sorry that happened and sounds very similar to the experience I had when I went shopping for my wedding gown.
I am a BM for a friend in March and DB seems to be one of the few BM dresses that have the exact color she is looking for. Ugh….I hopeful I can find a dress elsewhere. I don’t even want to deal with DB again.

I also had 2 bad and one goos experiance with them the first 2 times I was complety ignored… not asked if I needed help or even a hello when I walked in the door! The third time I came in I was greeted and they managed to fit me in for an appointment right away. The sales lady was awesome and very helpful even though she was bouncing between 2 appointments! So I think it just deppends on who you end up getting… but sadly more often it’s not the greatest sales people.

When I was a bridesmaid in my sister’s wedding, they made this huge deal about how I would have to order a two and get it taken in. So they do all the measuring and everything and when my dress comes in it is a size 22. They then told me it was my fault and would have to figure out how to alter the dress down! Um, no. So after talking to the store manager, I finally got them to order the right size.

I found that with DB they overbook appointments and so the people get stressed and pissy. We had one bad experience and from then on made the appointments for the second that store opened that day for business. Appointments every where run later as the day goes on.
It would piss me off to no end to know that chick was getting a commission.
