Your poll answer sounds really harsh! But no one will think that much about it, I promise. My initials were LKR (liquor or licker) and the only time I caught flack for it was some jerk in the 8th grade.

By the way, I adore the girl’s name you chose! It’s classic!

That is a stretch on bad initials. I realized a name I had always wanted (before I got married) once I got married and changed my name would make initals KOW. I think as long as initials dont actually spell words, even if they are a little funky,  aren’t that bad. Very rarely do people actually see someone’s initals anyway.

LOL. I think you’re fine. Those initials are a stretch for anything bad, and honestly if some jerk kid wants to make fun of your kid, they would find SOMETHING, initials or not.

MrsAKSkier:  haha i always think about my poor future children’s horrible nicknames!  my FI always says that kids will create nicknames out of anything, so don’t worry about it!

Now that I’m married,  my initials are KMS (or technically KMMS, I’m keeping my middle and maiden name as 2 middle names). That can be seen as “kill myself.” Could be a lot worse lol, don’t worry about it.

MrsAKSkier:  I agree, it’s a stretch. If kids are going to make that connectiong then they’ll find a connection with ANY combination of letters. Unless it’s ASS or something I think you’re ok.

Well, my initials are “meh”, and I can tell you that it literally NEVER comes up. I think like two people in my entire life have made the connection.

Haha, also, I totally thought when I saw the topic name that your kids initials were going to be “WTF” or something, hah!

I briefly considered an “O” middle name for my DD, her initials would have been AOK. 🙂 Her initials are ARK. If I were to marry someone with a “T” last name, mine would be TIT, that would be mortifying to me. Thankfully, my FI’s last name starts with “K.” TIK is not ideal, but better than some of the alternatives. I think her initials are fine, I doubt anyone will think twice about them.

MrsAKSkier:  It’s fine. Honestly, mean kids will find a way to tease others anyway. Granted, we don’t want to add fuel to the fire, but I know in my case I wasn’t going to avoid naming my son what I wanted just because his first and middle initials would be TP.

My initials were SAC (now SAS) ..people kind of chuckle when they find out, but I’ve never been made fun of for it.  You’ll be fine 😉

This thread made me realize that someone close to me has the initials ARM. I’ve known them for years, and only now do I realize that their initials spell a word. I also know someone with the initials BMW.

I was prepared for something much worse and was going to say don’t do it bc I have to use initials at work all the time and I’ve seen some bad/weird ones. But I wouldn’t think anything of SKD.
