With my wedding day just 4 months away, it’s rare that a day goes by without me thinking about it! I am beyond excited and the planning seems to be going really well. I have most things planned and ready to go, it’s just the minor details that remain.
But starting about 2 months ago, I’ve been having really wacky dreams about my wedding! Like complete disaster dreams, some very realistic, and others stretching reality a bit (though still very possible).
The most recent one involved the reception. We had gone through the ceremony, but then we found out the DJ had left, leaving us a iPod and the sound system, and then I learned that our photographer hadn’t shown up yet (missed the ceremony) and wasn’t answering his phone. Guests were leaving before dinner, and I was so upset! It felt so real. This is one of many similar dreams I’ve had, and it really bums me out. I hate dreams like that!
have any other brides had this happen repeatedly leading up to the wedding? What could this all mean? did you stop having these dreams before the wedding day?

I am not a person that stress dreams about anything, so I was sure I would avoid this. Lies. The MINUTE we set our date and booked the church (and my date is about a year and a HALF from now) I started up with the crazy dreams, about once every two weeks.
One, where somehow the whole wedding had been planned without my imput, bridesmaids I didn’t like, hideous brown dresses, and a soloist singing “I Dreamed a Dream” during the ceremony while I urgently whisper to SO that I had NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS.
Another where I had somehow hired a friend who knows nothing about photography to be the photographer.
They both felt 100% real.
I look forward to another year and some change of crazy dreams. ARgh.

My mom had a dream about my wedding recently that she told me about. She said we had sent invitations out with the wrong date, so on the wedding day nobody showed up because they thought it was next week. And then she was begging my dad to let us redo the wedding next week for all the guests. I thought this was quite a funny dream!
I have not had any wedding dreams yet, but mine is still quite a but farther away.

@CaroBee: I just got a vivid mental image of your dream and laughed out loud! 🙂
@KsoontobeN: You are definitely not alone! I haven’t had a ton of bad wedding dreams, but because we are getting married on a mountainside cliff (totally safe and stable) and I do have a very real fear of someone getting curious and stupid and leaning over the edge and falling o_O, I think this has led to some horrific dreams! But ironically, in my dreams, I’m the one to fall off the cliff! Every time I have these nightmares, I bolt upright gasping because it feels so real! As for whether or not they stop closer to the wedding…I’m 4 weeks away and just had one the other night, so I’m not sure that they do, but here’s hoping!

I’ve been having wedding anxiety dreams at least a couple times a week for the past several months. Only two more months till I can sleep normally again!

Congratulations to all you ladies! 🙂
@CaroBee: your dream made me laugh as well! That’s exactlmp how my dreams make me fell though. i can’t wait until the craziness stops!
@Pinkmoon: oh my gosh I would hate for my mom to be having the dreams! hopefully they don’t start for you anytime soon.
@SweetMelissa429: your location sounds spectacular! But those dreams would be so freaky 🙁 you could always have a limit for how close people can get to the edge just to be safe! Lol
@dovelovesfalcon: ahh thanks for that! Haha I can’t keep p anymore 😛 at least if you forgot shoes, they’d be hidden by your dress! Lol
@Peony526: it’s stressful to have these dreams! your day is so soon! That must be exciting 🙂

Totally have stress dreams about the wedding. They include:
Forgetting to make an appointment with my hairdresser for the day of, deciding to walk the dog while wearing my wedding dress and she jumped on it, the bridesmaids all decided to wear orange instead of pink, no one showed up to the reception, the DJ was just a kid with a laptop streaming youtube videos, among others.
Can’t control it. Just laugh and move on.

I dreamt last night that my wedding was that day (in my dream) and that I completely forgot to do anything and it was getting too late to fix it and get married on the promised day. I remember specifically worrying about how to tell all the guests that got invites that they should come in the fall instead, when I’m better prepared. My wedding is actually scheduled for the fall in real life.

I had my first wedding stress dream on the weekend!! I dreamed I cut the back of my hair off! Not the sides… only the back! It was so short that I couldn’t afford the hair extentions to fix it! I woke up in such a panic! haha.. Took a little while for me to figure out that it wasn’t real.

@lovelyduckie: I’ve had that same dream a couple times! Everyone is there and I’ve got nothing done and I’m like, ordering pizzas and trying to do my own hair and makeup. It’s such a relief to wake up and realize it’s not my wedding day and guests aren’t arriving to an event I haven’t planned.
I also had a dream that while I was walking down the aisle I stepped on a fire ant pile (not even sure they have fire ants in NJ) and then were biting the hell out of me during my vows and I ended up pulling off my dress in front of everyone to try to get rid of the ants. It was awful.

I’ve totally had the wedding stress dreams! My favorite was about two months ago…my MOH came to get me and told me to hurry up – I was going to be late for the wedding….me having no clue the wedding was that day!! I quick put my dress on in the entryway to the church, and threw my hair back. Then after the ceremony I started crying, saying I had really wanted to take a shower on my wedding day and hadn’t even gotten to do that, haha! And that I had hoped to be wearing makeup and had wanted to get my hair done!
No photographer had been booked, so I hoped people were taking pictures (and was glad no photog was there since I hadn’t even showered), and we didn’t have our hotel booked yet when we got to the honeymoon, so we were trying to convince them to give us a reservation!
I wake up and I actually love it – I know that no matter what goes wrong my REAL wedding will go so much smoother than the dream version!

I have been engaged for two years now (though I’m new to weddingbee) and I have been having wedding nightmares the whole time! They mostly involve all my friends and family planning my wedding for me as a surprise, but they basically screw everything up – like ordering the wrong size dress, forgetting to make a hair appointment, not hiring a band/dj, etc. It’s so upsetting! I wish I had some advice to give you but I don’t!

I had a dream last night, FI broke up with me in it. Horrid dream!
