I'm wearing the BM Randalls for my wedding and was afraid of the same thing - read a lot of reviews about how painful they were. I decided to buy them in a different colour first and wear them to a friend's wedding and I found them to be quite comfortable.
Sorry to hear they hurt your ankles so much... they are such gorgeous shoes!!
Yeah- I have a sky-high instep, and I think that was probably part of it. I wonder what makes shoes painful to some and not to others. I can certainly wear 5" heels with the best of them, but sometimes the angle hits me funny.
They are spectacular pieces of foot art.
FI is also only 3 inches taller than I am, so I'm on the hunt for lower wedding-day shoes anyway.
Yup, I also tried on a ton of BM shoes at NM Last Call and didn't purchase for exactly this reason. They are WAY too high and the curve of the shoe put pressure right on the ball of your foot. I'm used to wearing heels and I think these are ridiculous. I ended up getting a pair of Adrienne Vittadini satin deco looking shoes at the Lord & Taylor outlet instead- they were super marked down, final price $35. Does BM make lower heeled shoes? Women want to be comfortable on their wedding day, right?

I just want to say, I tried these on in NM Last Call today, in a slate blue. They are both the most beautiful things I've ever had grace my feet, and also the most painful. They look so charming and non-threatening! I do yoga and wear HIGH heels regularly, but after 30 minutes of trying on dresses in these my ankles are STILL sore.
Anyway, I guess I'm just giving y'all some lady cred for being able to take 10 steps in these- they're amazing. Feel free to post your similarly lovely shoes.
