I, personally have not used bagpipes(since im getting married in OCT) But i have been to a few weddings where they had a bagpipe playler and it was really really cool. It also fit in well with the weddings since they were Irish and Irish was a running theme throughout the wedding
I haven't used/seen them used, but I wanted to add that the other day I found out that there are Scottish bagpipes and Irish bagpipes. They look and sound different as well as they relate to totally different countries. This was brand new information to me...lol maybe you already knew this...
In just two weeks we will have a bagpiper at our wedding in Australia. I think bagpipe music is a wonderfully romantic idea for a wedding. They even have wedding music for you to choose from.
I vote go with it!
If you can incorporate it then go for it! I've never been to a wedding with them but i think it would be really cool!!
go for it!!
We are having a bag piper walk us into our reception for our entrance. I really like it! and believe me it can sound very beautiful for weddings, they have a few songs that are very traditional that most pipers play!
I say go for it! its different and fun, and it's lovley!
we are planning on having a bagpiper escort us out of the church. FI's cousin did it and we loved it!
I love weddingbee.
Thanks for the added push, ladies! It's between bagpipes and paying $350 for a classical duo in Stowe (she's in the VT Symphony Orchestra). I'm torn between the traditional music and the cost involved to do it... my uncle would play for free, I'm sure. Now I'm starting to think more seriously about pipes (Scottish).
We'll have to play some clips online and make a call tonight.
THANKS!!

Has anyone used bagpipes for there ceremony? My uncle plays the pipes and - while I love bagpipe music - it doesn't strike me as wedding music. Thoughts on that?
Thanks!!!
