I am getting married in June and would love to go on a tropical honeymoon. I have been thinking whether we should go to Maui or to the Bahamas in Atlantis. Any suggestions? Also, which one is cheaper to go to?

The Atlantis is fillled with kids cause of the waterpark. Maui is filled with honeymooners. Just saying!

We went to Maui, and it was absolutely amazing. But, I won’t lie — it was expensive. The Bahamas will probably be more affordable, though I don’t know anything about Atlantis.
What are your main “wants”? A beautiful beach? Things to do? Etc? Knowing that will help you make your decision.

If you live in CA, I would think that Hawaii would be cheaper!
And yes, I’ve heard that Atlantis is expensive and filled with kids!

Bahamas! Why because that is totally where I would go! And I will go one day!
I know both are fairly pricey. If you wanted to save a couple dollars I would suggest Sandals in the Bahamas. They have really nice wedding packages and it is all inclusive. Which is definitely the way to go. Then if you wanted to go over to Atlantis for a day it is just a boat ride away.

Hawaii! Hands down it’s a great honeymoon desination unless you do Sandals Bahamas 🙂

@stylistabride: I vote Hawaii! I got bored in the Bahamas.

Bahamas, but not Atlantis.

If you’re going to do the Bahamas I’d do the One and Only resort not Atlantis. Atlantis is getting kinda run down and there are kiddies everywhere. Having been to both places I’d go Hawaii.

Both Maui and the Bahamas are amazing options. Since you’re in CA, Maui will be considerably cheaper so there is that to consider. I would seriously advise not going to the Bahamas in June though…that is the start of hurricane season there and that is not what you want to worry about on your honeymoon!!! Obviously they don’t get them all the time, but considering how many tropical storms and hurricanes hit this past summer I’d be somewhat wary. If you want a caribbean honeymoon in June, I’d consider somewhere like Aruba which is spared from hurricanes.

We did Hawaii because of hurricane concerns (late Aug in our case) so that’s definitely a consideration.
