(Closed) Baking bees:Can I bake a cake in a stainless steel bowl?

Just based on a quick google, it seems like stainless steel is oven safe…does it say on the bottom of the bowl? Or can you look up that brand?

Yep, I’m pretty sure you can. My baking pans are stainless.

Just make sure you get a baking core, so your center isn’t soupy.

Is it oven safe?

I once wanted to make brownies but after I’d made the mixture didn’t realize I didn’t have a pan!! I just stuck it in the oven as is 🙂 The inside was a little soupy but I ate around it. Your idea sounds much more legit.

I’m going to say no. But I think you can bake in a Pyrex bowl. Try that instead!

@mwitter80: I’d also probably lower the temp and increase the baking time to try and get it to bake more evenly.
