Those both sound AMAZING!!! Recipes??? :-)
Red velvet with cream cheese has always been my favorite. I grew up having red velvet cake my grandma made. Kinda a "family" recipe.
Yum, I love red velvet!! I just made cupcakes last weekend: brown sugar cake with Baileys Irish Cream frosting. They were so good! I think I got the recipe from the Martha Stewart cupcake book.
I haven't tried to make them myself, but I always like chocolate cake with a peanut butter frosting! Someone from my work actually put a mini reese's PB cup inside the cake part of each cupcake. They were delicious!
I'm loving this website so far. I'm slowly making my way through her flavours ;) The graham cupcake with key lime cream cheese frosting is to die for!
@bakerella: Oh my goodness! Awesome share! All of her cupcakes look divine!
A friend at work brought in some awesome cupcakes last week. I think they were peanut butter w/ chocolate filling + peanut butter & chocolate frosting + Reese's Pieces. They were AMAZING.
@VagabondGurl: Honestly, that margarita flavoured cupcake sounds pretty fantastic! Would you mind posting/sharing the recipe?
My favorites are red velvet with cream cheese, and good old fashioned yellow cake with chocolate frosting.
@VagabondGurl: OMG Would you be willing to share the margarita recipe? It sounds amazing!
Recently had a cupcake from our potential wedding cake vendor. It's called the "Elvis". Banana pound, chocolate filling, peanut butter buttercream frosting with a little banana slice on top.
They also do a Nutella cupcake which made me die and go to heaven.
@LuckyJuls: Good god, I would eat a ton of those Elvis cupcakes right now. Maybe reading this post on an empty stomach wasn't the best idea.
@bakerella: Oh man, I'm going to have to try some of those! I love to bake but I try to not to eat (too many) of anything so I always take them to the office I work at. I'm definitely going to have to make some for the girls. lol
@sdrury89: Omg they are so good. I'm making the guiness cupcakes and the baileys ones this weekend for a Survivor finale party/taste test :) Mmmmmmmmm I can hardly wait!!!
I made oreo's/cookies'n'cream cupcakes on Friday! Make a regular white cake batter (white cake, not yellow) and chop up some oreo's, coat them in flour (so they don't sink to the bottom) and stir them into the batter.
Separate 12-24 oreo cookies (however many cupcakes you're making) and place the 1/2 with the filling in each baking cup, filling side up.
Fill each cavity 2/3 full and bake 12-15 min at 325 (my oven runs REALLY hot, so whatever you cook cupcakes at is fine!)
@bakerella: Those looked good, let me know how they turn out? I'm usually a cookie person, but really want to get better with cupcakes so I'm ready for new ideas :)
@M.Ruder: Those sound delicious! And a damn good excuse to buy oreos. lol
@VagabondGurl: do you mind sharing your recipie for margarita cupcakes? I had them once and they are Ah-Mazing!
@M.Ruder: WOW! I'm going to try those this weekend for our little cookout/gettogether! I absolutely love cupcakes, and those sound amazing!
Here's the Margarita Cupcake Recipe:
http://hoosierhomemade.com/margarita-cupcakes-for-cinco-de-mayo/
Instead of the 1/4 c. water, I increased the margarita mix to a whole cup. (I'm not usually a lazy baker, but I do love that this was a box mix base! haha!)
The frosting recipe I made up as I went along:
1 stick of butter - room temp. (They always say in recipes unsalted, but I always use salted because we don't buy unsalted - so I'm going to say, "Your choice!")
1 8oz package of cream cheese - room temp.
2 limes: Squeeze the juice in, then grate the zest in - from both.
3 cups of powdered sugar
I used a hand mixer, mixed the first 3 ingredients together, then slowly added the powdered sugar.
I added straws and limes to the top! Here are the pics:

@M.Ruder: Oreo cupcakes sound wonderful! I'm going to have to try that one. Thanks!
@VagabondGurl: Aw, thank you so much for your recipe! After seeing this thread yesterday I searched for a recipe but there are too many to choose from...much better to start with a winner. Your pics are darling too and the straws were a brilliant idea!
Red velvet for sure! I'm having red velvet cupcakes in place of a wedding cake =D
This is making me so hungry! Spice with cream cheese frosting is my fave :)
This weekend's adventure I'm going for S'Mores Cupcakes!

I'll give you a shout and take some pics when they're done!
@sdrury89: The graham cupcake with key lime icing was to die for. Loved it. I'm thinking about making one of the savouries tonight... I currently have candied keylimes all over my counter though so it may have to wait a little bit until they're all dried and packed up!
Mint chocolate chip with chocolate ganache.
This is going to be one of the layers I am making for my sister's cake
My favorite is red velvet cupcakes with a dollop of cheesecake in the center. It's so good!!

I saw a recipe yesterday for chocolate cake with a caramel cream topping. I'm going to have to try it out.
@futuremrshc: Red Velvet Maple Bacon?? Is that all together?!?!
Please do tell about anything with Maple! I love maple!
My favorite cupcake to make is Devil's food cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. And sprinkles...gotta have sprinkles!!!!
Those sound yummy! My best friend makes a White Russian cupcake that I absolutely love. She also makes Mojito and Strawberry Dacquiri cupcakes that are very tasty.

I've discovered my baking gene! I've been loving new cupcake recipes lately... I made red velvet with cream cheese frosting last week and margarita flavored with lime buttercream frosting this week! I'm having so much fun trying new, "different' recipes, I was wondering...
What is your favorite cupcake recipe combo?
