That's happened to me before. Ugh! The best I can figure it's because whether we like it or not there is cat hair floating in the air. So now when I let the cookies cool I drape paper towels over them, just to help a little.
Our girls have been nom-ing on the (fake) Christmas tree branches.
@mouse: I ALWAYS worry about that happening when I bring in baked goodies for co-workers! With 2 cats and a long-haired dog... it's bound to happen.
I haven't had any real mishaps happen lately... but I've also been so busy I haven't had time to cook or do much of anything :(
Haha, cat hair in food doesn't bother me all that much, weirdly. But my fiance freaks out as if he found a rotting body part.
I have to tie my hair really carefully when I cook, if it's not Curly it's definitely one of my hairs on MrPoodle's food LOL
That's why my standard poodle is so amazing. No shedding! He's black and routinely curls up on me while I wear white... not a single strand! :-) My hair however... different story :-)
@poodle - I know what you mean! I am CONSTANTLY shedding - it's terrible! I can't even tell you how many times my FI has found my hair in his food...embarrassing!
With four (!) cats (long story, but no, we're not strange cat people), we get hair everywhere, so we have to have "home clothes" and wash all the cooking areas and material before using it! I feel your pain! :)
Sigh. My once tiny kitten has now grown into a 6 month old super strong monster. He can now jump EVERYWHERE. Nothing is safe anymore. He eats my bouquets, he drinks from my water cup on the bookcase, and he's always trying to knock over FI's beer bottles. I found him licking peanuts the other day. I'm really terrified because he can now jump onto the counter beside the oven. I have a gas stove, so I'm terrified one day he is going to miss jump and jump on the flame. While I was away, my friend who was house sitting told me the kitten slept in the frying pan one night!

I baked some cookies last week, and the Dude was eating one earlier tonight, when he found a cat hair baked into it, sticking out from the top! Eww! I'm so glad I didn't bring any of those cookies to work.
Anyone else have any household mishaps lately?
