Wear what you will be comfortable in.

I’m about to have my second marriage and with my first I wore 4 inch heels thinking the same exact thing and ended up taking them off right after the ceremony they hurt my feet so bad. You think “it’s just for the ceremony” but all the hours before and standing around, then pics after..you are talking HOURS wearing them and the bottom of my dress was so dirty and actual worn in places from being dragged along. That..and no one..i mean..no one every saw my shoes.

This time around I have super comfy flats that I won’t have to worry about. I’m 5’2″ and he’s 6′ and I don’t care this time. I just want comfort and I want to dance!

Agree, wear what you will be comfortabe in. You will be doing a lot of standing, greeting guests, etc. I wore low wedges for my wedding.

I’m pretty short as well (5’2″) and I am planning on wearing flats. I don’t wear heels on a regular basis, so I know that I will find heels very uncomfortable.

I think for the amount of time that you will be on your feet, you should choose something that you will be comfortable in.

beerandcupcakes: you will look pretty short if all your girls wear heels. i wore heels for the ceremony pictures and thats it. im 5’2 and DH is 5’8-‘9. all my BMs are much taller than me and actually only some where wearing heels and some flats. my MOH had surgery on her leg so she couldnt wear heels. i ended up wearing my flats pretty much all night after that. but it was nice to have heels for pictures. you might just want to get a cheap comfy pair for that?

I am a 5’1 bride and my FI is 6’2 and I am wearing flats. At the end of the day our height difference makes us who we are, and I am happy with being short and I wanted to feel like me :).

Do whatever makes you comfortable!

I wore heels during the ceremony and for some photos. My dress still got dirty. I switched into flats for the reception.

You could wear heels for the ceremony etc and than have a pair of flat platform type shoes for later so you’re still taller and your dress is still off the floor but your feet are flat

if you are going to wear both, ask your seamstress to alter the dress to be in the middle of both lengths so it’s not as bad.

I just got married a few weeks ago and am also short (5’2″). I wore flats the whole time which was a life saver for my feet. My dress was hemmed to the length of the flats. For my first dance I did wear high heels because I did not want to risk tripping (it was a huge skirt). The dress looked fine both ways. I was also quite a bit shorter than my bridesmaids and groomsmen; even the pastor was 6′ +. For pictures our photographer just staggered each person so the height wasn’t so obvious and it looked fine. Good luck!

What about wedged ballet flats, you get your comfort and your height?

I’m barely 5’0 feet tall and will be wearing a 1-2 inch heel with my full length tulle A-line gown because I don’t want to look stumpy or perpetually child-like as usual, lol.

Those blue flats are so sweet though!
