I’m still to find a comfy pair and TBH I’ve pretty much given up now!

@Woodstock:  What exactly about them is uncomfortable and then maybe we can figure out why?

Do you have wide feet? High instep? low/no arch/flat fee?

@Woodstock:  I bought a pair of plain black ballet flats at Payless (yes, you read that correctly) like 6 years ago … And they’re still one of my favorite pairs of shoes!  Usually cheaper things like that don’t last very long, but for some reason these have really stood the test of time.  I wear them all the time, and they’re only starting to look worn.  I’ll probably have to replace them soon, but it’s always hard to replace a really comfy pair of shoes.

I don’t know what the specific brand is, but I wouldn’t completely write off some of the less expensive shoe stores.  (I don’t know if you have or not, but I know I don’t always hit Payless up immediately when I’m on the hunt for some new shoes.)  You never know what you’ll find!

@Woodstock:  Two things: (1) look for ballet flats made from real leather. They’ll stretch to fit your foot over time and will be less likely to rub or cause blisters. (2) Give it time. Are you breaking in your flats? You can wear them around the house with socks to speed things up.

@Woodstock:  true. do you have a nordstrom near you? they sell them and will let you return them if they give you blisters. i had to return a pair of merrills because they gave me blisters after i wore them a few times (but they felt fine when i tried them on in the store). they didn’t even question it.
