I've seens some outragous stuff done with balloons at a wedding and I've seen some really cute stuff. I know my fiance hates the idea. I'm undecided. So what's your opinion?

I like the look of the big, round globe balloons I've seen here and there in the blogosphere for decorations and I also like the way they look for the pro pics but (and I hope this doesn't burst your balloon bubble) the pics in the link you put up, I didn't care for too much, it seemed a bit dated, IMHO...Sorry!

Trailmix, don't worry about offending me. I'm completely undecided on the whole balloon thing. I know I wouldn't use them, as FI doesn't like it, but just wondering what others thought. I've seen some very child like creations in weddings and I've thought at least once "What were you thinking", but I've also seen some cool things. Like blowing them up with regular air and letting them fall from the ceiling by string (sorry I don't have a picture). See that ceiling was REALLY high and it made the space seem cold once the couple done that it looked a lot more cozy to fit what they were going for. Of course they could have done lanterns, guess the balloons were cheaper.
