Would anybody be interested in doing a Baltimore Bee Meetup?
Dinner, drinks, happy hour, Sunday afternoon crabfeast, whatever....
In the city or nearby - somebody suggest a place (preferably one with parking and not too pricey).
I'm thinking late September/Octoberish...whose in!?!
I'm in as long as it isn't my wedding weekend, October the 3rd!
This sounds great! I'm in as long as it's not October 16th-18th.
How about Iggie's in Mt. Vernon? Great pizza, BYOB - it's street parking, but I've never had to walk more than a block.
I'm in if I'm not busy, although late September is pretty booked for me, and I can't do the weekend of October the 3rd either, so I won't be offended if you all don't schedule around me :)
I would love to! Last time there was a DC/Baltimore area meetup I was not engaged, but now I am :)
I think this is a great idea! I live in Silver Spring but I'm getting married in Baltimore. I vote for late September or early October, since I'm getting married November 1.
I would love something in September since it seems like everyone is booked up with October weddings (including me) Mt,. Vernon or Three in Patterson Park is great as well. I am game! The DC brides and board can't have all of the fun :-D
I could be down if it were after the first week of October, I'll be back from my honeymoon by then. I live in Virginia, but I'm from Baltimore, that's where my wedding is and where I'm from!
Ohhh depending on when it is, I might be able to make it too. :o) Gives me a perfect excuse to make an Ikea run.
I'd love to... I live in Alexandria but wouldn't be that much trouble... or perhaps DC? :-)
I would love to meet up, as long as it is not the first or second weekends in October. Wedding, Honeymoon
Maybe one of the last two weekends in September?
Where should we meet? Cafe Hon in Hampden could be fun, or we can pick something more between Baltimore and DC.
I'm interested too, depending on the date! (But probably not if it's at Cafe Hon, since I currently work there, hahaha.)
Alright, what's better for people - September 26th/27th or October 16th/17th?
What about someplace like Nick's Fish House, which is slightly outside the city with it's own parking lot?
October 16th is best for me personally, although I may be able to make it on the 17th depending on the time. September 26/27 isn't looking too good for me.
Nick's works for me :)
I can't make October 16/17, since I'll be out of town for work. I've never been to Nick's, but it looks great!
I just posted on the DC meetup board, I'm pretty open in Sept but can't make it on Oct 17 or Sept 19. It sounds like we would have a big turnout, so I'm down to meet everyone!!
September is better for me, but I have no idea where Nick's is!
Oh! I'd come to a meetup, if I'm not working! I love Iggie's, so I'm partial to that but I'll go wherever. Both those weekends work for me so far :)
It's looking like September 26th or 27th - so Friday or Saturday? And what time? Are we thinking happy hour or dinner or after dinner drinks/dessert?
Nick's is down south of Baltimore, it's on the water and there is an outdoor bar. I was trying to think of places that have parking on-site, because I know for anybody unfamiliar with the city, it's such a pain. Friday and Saturday they have live music on deck and happy hour from 2-7. http://www.nicksfishhouse.com/
Iggie's looks like a really cool place but I feel like we would all have to get there on time and would they be willing to let us linger at a table if it's pretty busy? (I'm totally going there sometime soon though...)
There's also always someplace inner-harbor, like Philips. Also Lil Havanas off key highway has (some) parking and plenty of space inside (and an outdoor space too, I think). http://www.littlehavanas.com/
@ edb: hmm - you're probably right about Iggie's; especially if we go when it's busy, we'd probably feel guilty about hanging out for too long. You should definitely check it out though!
Also, I think September 26-27 is Saturday / Sunday?
I actually can't make Saturday afternoon, but I'm up for Happy Hour / dinner on either Friday or Saturday (or anything Sunday). Nick's or Little Havana sound good to me - the menus look awesome.
I've never been to Nick's or Iggie's, but I do frequent Little Havana's and would definitely recommend it. They have a pretty nice sized outdoor area and delicious mojito's! The food is pretty tastey cuban style food. I usually get the wings when I go there and they are pretty good.
It's also large enough and casual enough of a bar where everyone can get there when they can and everyone can get food as they want it. They have a parking lot but it is fairly small. There is street parking in the neighborhoods nearby though.
I can't do Friday, since I live and work pretty far from Baltimore, but I could do Saturday or Sunday (26-27). I haven't been to any of those places, but they all sound good!
If it's on Saturday, I'll have my FI with me because we're doing wedding errands in the area and going to Tiger Con at Towson. Should I try and find something else for him to do, or would it be ok if he tags along?
I'm free that weekend (26 and 27) and would love to meet up with everyone!! I've been to Little Havana and they do have inside and outside seating, minimal parking but there are meters and ample parking on the street. I went there for SUnday brunch a couple times and know it gets pretty packed around that time, not sure about any other part of the day.
The date that looks like it works the best is Saturday the 26th, and I have heard no strong opposition to Lil' Havanas - so time? 5pm? 7pm? What works best? And who will be coming, because I feel like we should make a reservation. Shout out!
Hey Baltimore Bees, I just wanted to introduce myself, as I will be moving to Baltimore after the wedding! I don't know anyone there expect FI's friends so I would love to go to a meetup at some point, though I won't be in town for this one. Have fun!
Me me me, I wanna come!! Can we do a little earlier, around 4 or 5, Little Havana works for me. I hope we have nice weather so we can sit outside on the deck :)
The 26th should work for me! I've never been to Little Havana but it sounds interesting. Around 6pm would be good for me. How is the parking?
Let's say Lil' Havana's from 5-7pm on the 26th? Shout out if it works for you!
Limited parking is available in their lot, you can also park in the neighborhood across the street from Key Highway. (I think you don't even need a permit.) Meeting at 5pm should make it so that parking in the neighborhood won't have gotten too crazy yet.
Ugh, we were sposed to go to Renn Fest on Sunday but now its been pushed to Saturday so I don't know if I'll be able to make it now
Aww ladies I am going to miss out on all the fun. unfortunantely and happily, my parents will be throwing an engagement party for me which starts at 3pm. Hopefully we can meet up again. Have fun ladies :)
I would love to but I'm going to Richmond this weekend to find my wedding dress!! Have fun bees!
