madmaxshannah:  Congrats! Where are you getting married? A lot of the time they can give you suggestions and preferred vendors.

We used Friendly Entertainment (Frank) as our DJ–he was awesome and super reasonable and kept the party going all night. DH’s cousin used him for her wedding later and we had a ton of fun as guests. We used Bayline Studios (Robby McLean) as our photographer. Again, he worked with us to come up with a package that we could afford and that fit our needs. If you look at his website he seems to get kind pf photoshop happy–filters and effects and stuff–but we just told him we wanted more natural pictures and that’s what we got. He also sent us a bunch of teasers the day after and then a couple of days after. Our caterer was Hunt Valley catering–not the cheapest, but really yummy. Look at Santoni’s too.

madmaxshannah:  Congrats!! I just emailed Valley Country Club for a quote yesterday 🙂

I’m in the super early stages of planning a 2016 wedding, but will be following this thread for sure.

Thanks in advance to everyone who replies with their vendors!

madmaxshannah:  That’s so exciting. We’re trying to plan a frugal wedding too. We originally thought we were going to have no help financially, but while we haven’t had “the talk” with my parents, they’ve been dropping hints that they at least want to contribute something. I’d be happy with anything, honestly, but from some things they’ve said I wouldn’t be surprised if they offered to pay for a large majority of it

Does the Mansion @ Valley CC have pricing info online? I’ve looked at so many places that I can’t remember if I was able to find pricing there or not.

madmaxshannah:  Awesome – thanks! That’s definitely the brochure I’ve seen before. We’re not into the ballroom style, and definitely was the ceremony and reception in the same venue.

Our favorite place so far is Ceresville Mansion (http://www.ceresville.com) in Frederick. We’re going to start making appointments after Thanksgiving. So excited!

madmaxshannah:  I’m late to the party, but wanted to throw my vendors out there – they were AMAZING.

DJ: C and J Entertainment. Karl was our DJ and he was fantastic – got on the floor to teach our guests the wobble and everything, made sure my husband and I ate dinner, and kept an eye on the time/kept the night moving.

Photo: Marlayna Photography. She’s amazing! Good photos, quick responses to emails, she got us our photos so quickly, and she’s super sweet – easy for us and our guests to work with.

Day of Coordinator/Random services: Tamika at Diamond Event Services was wonderful. Good prices and easy to work with.

If you’re looking for additional music, we used the Antares Musicians String Trio and they did a beautiful job.

I’m happy to share pricing if you want a ballpark – just message me! 🙂 Congratulations! And good choice – that venue is beautiful and Martin’s does their events so so well!!! My dad went to an event there and said the food was amazing.

Photography- We used Raye at Gillette Portrait Arts, and I’d make the same decision if we had a do-over. Raye takes amazing photos.

Cake- We skipped wedding cake, but I use Fiona’s Cakes in Severna Park for every event that I throw (bridal showers, baby showers, etc.). Her chocolate cake is sinful.
