I really love the idea of bamboo trees as wedding favor, it think its adorable! however, i know that bamboo trees are suppose to “give” you luck. As a Christian, I dont believe in luck at all, and to me the bamboo tree is just a very nice plant. I just wouldn’t want anyone at my wedding to feel offended, or cause any christian opinions chaos or anyone to feel any sort of way. I don’t know if i should continue with this favors idea. or can anyone suggest something similar?
any help will be appreciated!
Thank you 🙂

@jenc3289: if you like it then go for it. everything symbolizes something or another if you research it on the Internet. I doubt people are going to be offended by a nicface or because in some cultures it is a good luck sign. But then again, just because this would not be my perspective doesn’t mean I can speak for your wedding guests

@jenc3289: I would actually be amazed if anyone was offended by a bamboo plant. I mean, to western Christians, it’s just a nice plant. And it’s not a religious symbol, it’s just a cultural association. I can’t speak for your wedding guests, but I would think it wouldn’t cause any more offense than any other plant (except maybe Devil’s Tongue, but I think they’d be more offended by the smell of that particular flower than the name…).

I kill plants so I would be less than enthused. Maybe have a table set up with the favors so the guests that want them can take them and the ones that don’t can leave them. Then donate the leftovers to a local church or nursing home. I don’ see how a plant would be offensive to Christians and I was raised Southern Baptist which is pretty conservative?
