@jenc3289:  if you like it then go for it. everything symbolizes something or another if you research it on the Internet. I doubt people are going to be offended by a nicface or because in some cultures it is a good luck sign. But then again, just because this would not be my perspective doesn’t mean I can speak for your wedding guests

@jenc3289:  I would actually be amazed if anyone was offended by a bamboo plant. I mean, to western Christians, it’s just a nice plant. And it’s not a religious symbol, it’s just a cultural association. I can’t speak for your wedding guests, but I would think it wouldn’t cause any more offense than any other plant (except maybe Devil’s Tongue, but I think they’d be more offended by the smell of that particular flower than the name…Wink).

I kill plants so I would be less than enthused.  Maybe have a table set up with the favors so the guests that want them can take them and the ones that don’t can leave them.  Then donate the leftovers to a local church or nursing home.  I don’ see how a plant would be offensive to Christians and I was raised Southern Baptist which is pretty conservative?
