About three weeks before the wedding, the band I hired sent over a list for me to fill out, asking especially for things like the first dance song, father-daughter dance, cake cutting song, garter song…etc. They put in the list that they could learn up to two new songs for the event. For the first dance I requested “We Found Love” by Rihanna and for the cake cutting song we requested “A Sky Full of Starts” by Coldplay. We did not have any other big things we needed the band to do, and because I sent the list ahead of time I assumed they would learn them. But during both events, the band put on an iPod for the songs and charged us an extra $150 to MC. Really upset about this, but did I need to tell the band that I’m hiring them to play the first dance song? Because I thought it was obvious and implied when they asked me to send them a list of the main songs for the wedding, and put in a note that I need to send it ahead of time so they could learn the songs. Bees, what do you think?
