@BrideToBe14:  I think a DJ can offer a wider variety of music and that typically, there’s more “danceable” music with a DJ as opposed to a live band.

@BrideToBe14:  I voted for a DJ.  Bands are cool…but DJ’s can provide such a wide variety of genres and songs…that I would prefer having more options.

DJ for sure. I want to hear the real songs, and not some band’s rip off version. And bands are way more limited to what they know and can play well.

@BrideToBe14:  We didn’t give a song list, but we did give some guidelines as far as type of music per the timeline.  For instance, we wanted softer music played during dinner while people were eating, and we saved the Nicki Minaj and LMFAO for later in the evening when the majority of our older guests had left lol.

@BrideToBe14:  I prefer a DJ because they can play more danceable music. I like bands but I like to dance! 🙂

I really want to like the idea of a band, but a dj can play much more of a variety, so we can go from ceremony music to mellow dinner music to fun dance songs.

A bad DJ sucks but nothing is worse than a crappy band.

Unless you KNOW a band by reputation or experience…..it’s a risk.

If a wedding is black tie, there should be a band. Otherwise, I love a good DJ. They can provide so many different options and can custimize the evening on the spot to meet the needs of the guests.

I’ve never been to a wedding that had a band, but I haven’t been to that many weddings. Wink  I would think a DJ would be safer.

Definitely DJ. No breaks needed, variety of music, and usually way less expensive. Weddings make us bleed enough money.

Band. It was so so so so so so so awesome. Ours was $800 for four members. We did speeches and cake cutting in the two breaks.
