I went to a wedding last summer that had the band JumpStart; they were pretty good. I also know of a good Johnny Cash cover band, Cash Only.
As far as DJs go, Lake Tahoe Entertainment came highly recommended by a friend. They have DJs and live performers, so if you can't get a band otherwise, they might be able to help you out.
At my wedding, I used a local DJ named Donna Baxter. She was great, and I would be happy to give you her info, if you want it.

Can anyone recommend a band or DJ in the Tahoe area? I'm getting married near Kirkwood in September. I want a rock n roll cover band that is good - in tune and not cheesy! And maybe a bit of jazz while people are eating dinner. I may have left it a bit late to book a band, so if you can recommend a DJ that would be great too!
