My fi and I just got engaged after almost 8 years together so excited! Now we haven’t started the whole planning thing yet just enjoying this stage but we are planning for Feb 2014 in Banff Canada! We go every year in February and think it has a lot of special meaning to us. Now we usually stay at the Brewester mountain lodge but as they do not have space for an actual wedding and reception I am wondering If any of you lovely ladies have or know of anyone who has gotten married in Banff? And maybe who helped you oR if you went with a package. There will be approximately 80 people at our wedding. I shouldn’t say we haven’t started the whole wedding planning thing because the more I type the more wedding ideaS pop into my head lolso have heard the saltlix will host your wedding but other than that im clueless! Thanks bees!

Hello! I’m not getting married in Banff, but I do live in Calgary, and have travelled to Banff quite a bit!!
You should look into The Chateau @ Lake Louise, it’s expensive so I’m not sure about your buget, but GORGEOUS!!! The Rimrock Resort & Hotel right in Banff is also very nice!!
If you have any questions about anything else in the area feel free to ask! I also know an AMAZING photographer that does weddings here!

I got married in March at The Juniper Hotel and Bistro in Banff. It is more my taste ( modern mountain) than the Springs and Chateau and way more cost effective especially in February as it is off season.
I have great contacts and vendors if you need any tips or advice.
Good luck and congrats!

I looked into getting married in Banff and was going to go with either of the Fairmont Hotels (Banff Springs or Lake Louise). I forget which one looks like a castle (think it’s Banff Springs) but it was sooo beautiful! It’s pricey but I thought it would be worth it!! So jealous you’re getting married there 🙂

I can’t answer your question, but just wanted to say that will be a beautiful place to be married in. I’ve been to Banff twice and it is just lovely.

FH & I have a similar relationship with Canmore (we aren’t having our wedding there, but will probably go for our honeymoon).
The hotel/resort that we always stay at is called the Grande Rockies Resort. It’s in Canmore (so your guests won’t have to fork out for park passes) & they do weddings. They have an in-house restaurant, spa, pool, exercise room, etc. They have both “hotel-style” (boutique) rooms & condo-style rooms (with full kitchens). If you sign up for an iPrefer membership (100% free), you get awesome bonuses.

You might find this website useful.
The Canadian Rockies is a great location for a wedding! I grew up close to the rockies and have visited them many times throughout my life. Stayed in a lot of different hotels. The great thing about Banff is that there are so many options for accomodations/reception locations. One of my cousins got married at the Banff Springs Hotel but held an entire weekend of celebrations at another hotel that was more affordable for everyone to enjoy their weekend.
If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will help in any way I can 🙂 Happy planning!

Here’s a great list of Banff venues with photos from a wedding photographer’s site. Not every single options, but a starting place!
I got married at Emerald Lake last week and I used Modern Photography from Calgary. I loved her!

You got married at Banff Springs?! It’s my dream to get married there!
I hope you don’t mind my asking, but how steep are the prices for a reception there?? I’ve been trying to find quotes online, but no luck. My SO and I are looking but not seriously yet, I don’t know if it would be poor ettiquette to just ask for a quote when we haven’t even set a date for the wedding… 🙁

AnnaBCW: How exciting! Which month will that be? Is it an elopement or a guested wedding? Weekday or weekend?
