I don't have them YET, but I'm planning to get them after the wedding so I'm interested to hear as well!
@luli29: I don't straighten mine (just cut mine myself on Christmas eve!) lol
I just blow dry mine & they look great! The rest of my hair has to be straightened or its FRIZZZZ so try just blow drying them.
If I don't feel the need to wash my hair but my bangs are greasy I wash them (bend my head over the tub/sink wash them real fast then blow dry!) Takes like less than 10 minutes.
My bangs are straight across, btw.
This is what they look like un straightened: (All of my hair is straightened other than my bangs. They was just blow dried.)

@Mrs.Estep: Do you think using a flat iron makes them greasier than blow drying?
LOL, I just did the bend over the sink and just shampoo my bangs thing. It was strange, but hopefully it works
Mine are blunt bangs, straight across too
dry shampoo!!!! you just spray it on, wait and then brush it out. They even make clear so that you don't get the white powder stuff
@luli29: Yea, it could! I think just blow drying them would help with the grease. Mine don't get greasy to fast (unless I play with them.) Also make sure to always wash your forehead & another tip use face powder on your forehead more than usual, touch up during the day. It helps from letting the grease getting from your skin to your bangs!
I always wondered how well dry shampoo worked. I have to wash my hair every day it seems!
Do you straighten your hair everyday?
@mcklough: I have a Tresme waterless foam shampoo...and it just makes my scalp dirty/itchy. Do you think a spray is better?
@Mrs.Estep: You look awesome! But that is your hair unstraightned? You must have super straight hair naturally. My hair is wicked curly, so this is kind of a problem. I can't have curly hair and blunt bangs - I'll look ridic.
@Cash000: Not every single day (but in those above pictures it is straightened, just my bangs are not.) If I am not going out then I don't but if so yes or I curl it. :-)
@luli29: No, my hair is straightened in those pictures, but my bangs aren't! lol Sorry bout that!
Fringe wash!!!!!
(or maybe you'd call it a bangs-wash in the US but it's the same thing)
I just got mine too. I wouldn't use dry shampoo on my fringe as it'd still clump but not look greasy. It sits better clean and straightened. But the rest of my hair, I don't wanna wash much at all as it is half pink, so I use dry shampoo on most of my head, and fringe wash every other day. :)
I have let my bangs grow out, but I had blunt bangs for years and dealt with this same issue. I shower everyday, but I only wash my hair every other day (sometimes every three days...), otherwise it gets too dry and frizzy. (*Ahem* Plus, I'm lazy.)
I second the dry shampoo! It's amazing if you find the right one! Here is the Sephora link for my favorite one so far: Ojan Rub-Out Dry Cleansing Spray. It smells great, works great, and you can buy a cheaper travel-sized bottle to try it out and see if you like it.
Also, I never flat ironed my bangs; just blow dried them.
@Ms Bookworm: Thank you - I'll look for another dry shampoo. And I think blowdrying may be better than flat ironging, so I will try to limit the flat ironing. What kind of brush did you use to blow dry them?
@luli29: None - I would just comb them straight then blow dry from above to make sure they laid straight/flat. Hopefully that makes sense; don't blow dry from below, with the dryer facing upward, or else you'll end up with:

I agree that a fringe wash is ideal because clean bangs always look the best - but sometimes I didn't have time even for that, so dry shampoo is great in a pinch.
@luli29: I only washed my bangs every day when I took a shower.
I've had blunt bangs for about 4 years now and the best thing I've found is the ConAir blow dryer that looks like a curling iron - it dries my bangs quickly, no frying.
I have greasy bangs too, so once or twice a day fluff this stuff in it and it's fresh again. It smells lemony!
Use an astringent twice a day on your forehead. It helps. Washing your hair with baking soda and vinegar helps alot too. Hair is awful for the first two weeks but then you will have the best hair of your life and think of all the money you will save.
I don't think using a straightener vs a blow dryer would change how oily your hair gets.
I've tried a few different dry shampoos. I've found the aerosol spray works better than the foam. I personally just use corn starch--- sprinkle in and brush out. my hair is dark blonde though, not sure how well cornstarch would work on dark hair colors.
if you plan on keeping your bangs short, go ahead and use the flat iron! it will be fine as long as you trim regularly.
@janie-janie: The blow dryer dries the hair out for the day, is why it helps my bangs out! But idk how it works for others hair.
Corn starch is a good tip! I had never heard of that!
I do the dry shampoo which can save me on a morning that I don't have time to wash, or sometimes will just pull most of my hair into a ponytail and wash the front 1/4 or so. It's a little weird, but besides being greasy I find if I work out, I"m in the shower anyway, and right at my hair line I'm so sweaty.
@Mrs.Estep: oh, I was thinking more like changes in how much oil your hair follicles secrete. I could see how a hair dryer would help dry out your hair. I bet it kind of melts the oil & the brush redistributes it. but that's my guess.
by the way, your bangs are adorable!
I have heard that if you wash your hair less often, eventually you will produce less oil. I have a friend who only washes her hair once a week! her hair rarely ever looks oily to me. but I tried that trick and it never worked for me. I chalk it up to different body types.
You could always try cutting back to only washing your hair every other day, and a lot of the time your hair will adapt and get oily less quickly. I also swear by dry shampoo- I use Tigi Rockstar. Some of the dry shampoos are a bit more expensive than Tresemme/Sauve, but so worth it!
@mcklough: THIS! I love Blow's Faux Dry. Best one I've used. $20 for the bottle but it lasts forever. The aerosol ones run out so quickly and don't work nearly as well.
Like the others girls have said, washing just your bangs is the easiest way to go. I also use the oil blotting sheets from Body Shop and they are a life saver! I'll use it just on my forehead and it makes it so my bangs never look greasy, its great. I haven't read what everyone wrote so sorry if any of this has been said, but the little hairs will stop once your bangs are 'trained' and know where they're supposed to be. At first I remember other parts of my hair falling forward and thinking they're supposed to be part of my bangs, lol. I also never use a straightener on my bangs, I just blow dry them and sometimes will use a thin round brush to give them the 'perfect' look. LOVE my bangs! Mine are pretty much the same as Mrs.Estep's and I've had them a few years now, they just keep getting better :)
I have wispy bangs, and am thinking about getting them cut thicker. The good thing about bangs is that whatever damage they get will be cut off much sooner than that of the rest of your hair.
Yes the spray isn't itchy at all! I have the tressume one that is like 2.50 AND it also comes in a tiny size for purse travel
i just put a small amount of baby powder on my fingertips and run through my bangs. Also, I blow dry my bangs with a round brush, literally takes 30 seconds. done and done!
I've had bangs for a really long time. I find they get greasey the same rate as the rest of my hair. If I feel like they're too greasy to wear out but too soon to have another wash, I will just put water on them and re-blowdry them.
I always blow dry, my trick to making them perfect, is that i blow dry them all to the left with a paddle brush, and then blow dry them all to the right, with the paddle brush. repeat until they're dry and they should be straight.
I usually only flat iron them if they're shorter (baby bangs) or if i'm trying to do something fancy with them.
Do you have greasy skin? You could also use baby powder (thats what I use on my hair). And it could be the protectant you're using.

I just cut blunt bangs on myself right before New Years, and I LOVE the look. I've been getting compliments left and right at work.
However, there are a few things I hate already
-grease: They get dirty easily, but I do not have the time to wash my hair every day.
-length: it seems I snip off a bit every day, but there are still strands that are longer than others and they sit in my eye crease and I hate it
-health: I'm worried that straightening my bangs daily is gonna fry them (I use a heat protector). Will my hair look like hay soon?
I think I will just be able to keep this look for half a year max...in the summer, its definitely not a good idea, but I might be able to manage now in the winter.
Does anyone else have blunt bangs...what are your answers to these problems?
