I'm not sure I undserstand what the problem is. You just have direct deposit from your fulltime job and you are just stuck depositing your checks from your part time job.
I just swapped banks and my new bank offers to set up direct deposit. I was confused on how that works my FT job I had to do it thru them.
I dont want to fill out the form online for my PT job like the webiste tells me to and have my PT job be mad.
I worked at a bank, who offered free checking accounts to people with direct deposit. People would call us and say "I'd like to set up direct deposit". That is something you need to set up with your employer, and if they don't offer it, then they just don't offer it. They may be a smaller company without the electronic payroll capabilities.
So your bank is offering to set them up for you? If your PT job doesn't offer direct deposit, then they probably don't have a person on staff to set up drafts like that even if your new bank contacted them. Just set up the direct deposit with your FT job and leave your PT job out of it.
@mishelleez: They are probably just going to give you a form (a letter from the bank) with your routing number and account number to hand to your employer. They can't just automatically take money from your PT job's payroll if it's not something they offer.
@HolyVowels: When I sign on my online banking account there is a link to set up direct deposit.
@mishelleez: The bank I worked at did too. And it's a form with the bank's address printed on it and your account number and routing number. People still had to print it out and give it to their employeers. I'm not sure how much different from that it can be.
My past two jobs haven't offered direct deposit. it's no big deal. I just take my checks to the bank and deposit them there. There are like 5 Bank of America's here.
That sucks! I was really excited I could magicly have my money in my account from them even tho they dont offer it.
i dont understand your question....if your job does not have direct deposit, the bank has no way of getting around that and you cannot do it.
If your PT job doesn't offer direct deposit, then you don't have a choice (even if your bank is offering it). The PT job is the one paying you - so it's up to them to have the ability to transfer the funds in that way (not on the part of the bank to receive it).
Hope that makes sense....
The only thing your bank is going to do is give you a form to give to your employer. Usually they give it out with new accounts because you don't have any checks yet. When I changed banks, I gave the form to my HR manager. If your PT job doesn't offer DD, then you just have to take the checks into the bank.
