We are getting out daughter baptized this weekend and were given an envelope to donate to the church in honor of this event. The problem is, I have absolutely NO idea how much is appropriate!
I know it’s supposed to be something you’re comfortable but is there a standard or anything you can think of? I don’t want to be a cheapo!
My neighbor said $200 which shocked me, that’s way too much. I guess I was thinking around $50?
What do you guys think??

It depends on your income…you generally tithe 10% to the church, so account for any other donations you have already given or plan to give and go from there. It sounds like $50 fits your financial situation, so give $50. You aren’t required to give more than you are able, and the church really doesn’t judge you on how much you donate anyway. 🙂

I would do at least $100 if you’re able to.

Wow, this the first that I heard of for a Baptism donation. I say whatever you are comfortable with giving. You can only give what you can afford. If you can give 10% then go ahead but if not don’t feel bad about it.
