We have found a venue we love and can get an affordable caterer. We really love the prices and quality we get from the caterer but we cant use them for alcohol because the venue requires that to go through them. If we use the caterer beers are $1.75-2.25 per beer, wine and everything else are the same price but the venue wants to charge $4-6 per bottled beer, not pints or anything. We are allowed to purchase kegs of beer $300-350 that they will personally serve our guests in glassware. We will have about 70 people, 60 of drinking age and the majority drink beer. It will start at 630 and go to midnight but we arent sure how much people will drink the day of. We will have unlimited wine (12 different kinds) but dont know how many kegs we should get or should we go the bottle route at the huge mark up. There are no beverage packages offered but we will have iced tea, lemonade, canned sodas, coffee, water along with these beverages (hard liquor is allowed with a $400 fee plus the alcohol themselves) and we pay the total tab at the end of the evening. They wont let us do half kegs which wouldve been great to add more variety. Should we do kegs or bottled beer? How many kegs/different types of brews if we do the kegs?
