I use the Dove exfoliating bar, and it doesn’t leave a film. It’s very moisturizing, actually!

Eek I hate bar soap. We stayed at a hotel this weekend and I forgot my face soap, so I had to use bar soap on my face and it was terrible 🙁 !

My FMIL has been making me & my fiance homade soap.. hemp, tea leaf & lemon. They are all very good, and give you a fresh clean feeling. Before she started making these, I didn’t use bar soap, I much preferred a body wash with those little micro beads.

I only use fancy bar soap haha. I don’t normally use it at all but I’ve used charcoal bar soap I got from etsy and I really loved it.

I have never noticed a film on my skin in 24 years of bar soap use.

I don’t use body wash because I don’t like heavily scented products, and bar soap lasts so much longer.

I don’t like them (most normal brands) because I just feel really dry afterwards…but I wouldn’t mind if it was of the homemade-moisturizing type.

I mainly use body wash, I have had good experiences with Dove’s bar soap though. Yeah… I do get that film and it makes me pretty itchy.

I use oil of olay’s bar soaps; most other ones dry my skin out. I do use body wash and/or an exfoliating wash too a few times a month.

I hate bar soap, because of that nasty film feeling, but the funny thing is that my husband only uses bar soap, because it’s what he’s used his whole life—but he thinks that nasty film feeling is a “clean” feeling.  Like, he’s said yes, it makes his skin feel wierd, but that’s because it’s “clean” skin.  I’m like…no, that’s overly dried on film skin.  It’s “squeaky” skin, which is not good skin.  But he thinks “sqeaky” skin = clean skin.

I use shower gel, but I have to admit, I occasionally reach for DH’s man soap. He uses one of those Dove Men bars that are just a bit gritty. Mostly it’s for times when I don’t get quite enough gel to lather my legs or something.

ETA: My favorite body wash is actually the Aveeno baby stuff. It’s moisturizing and fragrance free, which is actually hard to find in my experience.

    Ew. Hates bar soap.

It leaves a film or feels just weird, gets crusty and gross looking/slimey/leaves scum, and I can’t help but think that germs are just covering it after a while!

Liquid hand soap and Dial body wash for me. In the hotel, I’d try to snap the bar soap into as many pieces as I had days so I’d only have to use it once. lol

I use bar soap, but only use the bulk stuff from Whole Foods. Hotel soap leaves a bad film, but this stuff never does.
