Yes! I have worn it before and absolutley love it. My face looked flawless and the makeup blended in so well you couldn't tell i was wearing any. However, if you're worried you won't like it, just go and buy some of the Loreal Mineral makeup. I find that it works just as well and it's cheaper.
As far as the Loreal goes...I never use their applicator brush. I just use my bare minerals brushes.
laura- how do you get the loreal minerals out of the packaging? I like the makeup- hate the packaging.
@meggles: I think she's talking about a diffferent product. Not Bare Escentuals (the expensive stuff) but Bare Minerals (drug store version).
I used Bare Minerals and it made me break out major. It didn't like it at all, it was cakey and had horrible coverage. I recommend going to the high end brand. Bare Minerals is not a good substitute.
Mary Kay has an awesome new mineral powder. Its very light and never feels cakey, even if I need to use extra for problems days. It does a very good job of evening out my skin tone too. The best part is if you dont like it after you've used it you can exchange it for something else. It's only like $25 and it lasts me a couple of months.
@meggles: i've actually never heard of bare escentuals, but thanks!
i think i may try the loreal kind, and see what happens. if i like that, perhaps i'll move up in the world. thanks!
Sorry! It's confusing b/c I think the full name is bare minerals by bare escentuals.... all very confusing.
Bare Minerals = Bare Escentuals. Same thing. I used it for about a year and it was amazing, I had one co-worker who kept commenting on my flawless skin, but then all of the sudden it started making my skin break out, I have no idea why! Maybe they changed their formula or something?
I've had no trouble w/bare escentuals. I use it and have done so for 2 years. I also love their plumping lip gloss..buxom lips!
For my skin, the mineral make-ups look horrible! Maybe I wasn't putting it on right, but I went to the make-up counters, and had one of the women apply it and she agreed... it just wasn't working for me. She said my skin is too dry or something.
Hopefully it works for you. It's a beautiful look!
Just to clarify, I use Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals powder foundation, blush, and mineral veil. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! So does my skin! The Bare ID Skin Revver Upper works well too. The only thing is I'm concerned about wearing it on my wedding day because I don't think it's opaque enough and I think it'll wear off after a couple of hours. But great for everyday use.
I tried using the less expensive version, L'Oreal Paris Bare Naturale. Icky yuck my face HATED that makeup. And the eyeshadow doesn't even stay on!! Not worth the money.
I first started using the Bare Minerals but then ran out. I was in south louisiana at the time and there wasn't a sephora or ulta anywhere close so I just went to walgreens and bought L'oreals version. I still had the packaging from the bare minerals so i just dump a little of of the l'oreal into the lid from the bare minerals and use the bare minerals brushes. I can't really tell that much of a difference in the two except that L'oreals goes on a touch heavier. So, before i apply it i just kind of blow on the brush to remove some of the excess powder. Anyways, I think Bare Minerals is totally worth the price. And when you think about it, 60 bucks for their starter set really isn't that much compared to buying their foundation by itself for 26 bucks. If I were you I would go to where they sell it and have the makeup artist apply it for you. That way you can see if you like it before you buy it. If you're like me and don't have a sephora or ulta right around the corner just go buy the L'oreal and see if you like it. If you do you can always order the Bare Minerals and know it will look better.
I'm having to do Bare Escentuals for the wedding (long story) and just had my trial the other day. LOVED it on, felt good, looked good, but it photographed way too shiny. :( I asked my MUA and she basically said that's how it is, so I'm not using their foundation on the big day. I plan to start wearing it all the time tho, it was great stuff!
I used bare minerals/escentals on my wedding day/everyday and it looked fine for my pics. I use the well rested eye powder for my dark circles and dab some on the red patches I have on my face then use the medium beige powder and a little bit of the warmth for a sun kissed look. It works great for covering the redness on my face that I am very self conscious about.
