We are planning our seating chart and our venue provides round tables of 10. We are having a smaller wedding so we don’t want to seat 10 people to a table. I know that 8 people to a table that fits 10 will look just fine, but will 6 or 7 guests to a table look too bare?

I think 6 might be a little bare, but 7-8 would look fine.

Yeah I was thinking 6 might be a little bare too but if 7 guests at a table that seats 10 will still look good then I do feel better about it

I can’t imagine how it would look but I’m sure your guests will appreciate the extra room!

Lol I just have to say the first thing that came to mind is bare bums at the tables haha. I have no idea why. I just saw “BARE” and that’s where my mind went!
I’m sure it would be fine!

Do you know the size of the tables? It really depends, but I think it will be fine. Ours sat 8-10, but we had only 6-7 at a few tables, and it was fine.

We had 8’x5′ rectangular tables at our wedding. They usuall recommend having 12 people seated at them (4 on each side and 2 on each end). We ended up having 6-8 people at each table. I was really worried that they would look empty and bare and the guests would feel SO FAR away from one another, but in the end it worked out perfectly! The tables still looked perfectly crowded but our guests actually had elbow room and space for their drink glasses and whatnot. Definitely do 7-8. Honestly, I even think you could make 6 work.

@MsJ2theZ: You are not alone!
We had some 60″ tables with 6 just because we had some no shows, I don’t think it’ that big of a deal.
