Hi! I've been a lurker for a while and finally decided to join so I could get help and understanding from other brides. Because sometimes, no one else just understands! :)

After months of deliberation, I decided on 3 styles of Bari Jay dresses and I'm letting my 6 bridesmaids choose which size they prefer. These are the dresses I've chosen.

I've received measurements from 3 of my girls and their measurements just aren't adding up. For example. This bridesmaid is little. She has pageant dresses etc that are a size 8. Her measurements are:

Bust-36 (Corresponds with a size 10)

Waist-31 (Corresponds with a size 16)

Hips-39 (Corresponds with a size 8)

And there is always that 'rule of thumb' to go with the biggest size, but I just see a 16 swallowing here whole and a bunch of alterations having to be done to it.

This also goes with another bridesmaid who is skin an bones but her measurements correspond with a 16 or 18.

Both of them were measured by seamstresses that do alterations, etc. Both these girls wear a 6 or 8 in other formal/bridesmaids gowns they have. I'm going to ask the boutique of course when I go to order the dresses, but ultimately I'll be making the decision on the spot for sizing.

So basically (after rambling) I've seen some say Bari Jay runs big, others say small? What should I do?!

@brittany8806:  Did you ever find out any information on this? I'm ordering a BM dress, and my measurements didn't add up either.  I have to order a size 20 b/c of my bust measurements!! That' just insane....I'm not a super skinny girl, I wear a size 12 normally, and I understand the sizing is not the same with dresses, but a size 20 hip/waist is going to be ridiculous! Let me know if you find out any info!
