I’m having a hard time finding a venue.
I want a barn venue, but the biggest obstacle I’m finding is that few are open in the winter months. We want a January or Febuary wedding.
I would like one no further south than Monterey/Fresno, and no further north than Redding. East or west doesn’t matter. That’s a big range. Closer to the Tahoe or Sacramento areas would be ideal.
It needs to be able to accomodate 100 guests, seated.
I would also prefer to be allowed to work with vendors of my choices, especially the photographer. I intend to make some of the food myself, so not being allowed to serve that would be a problem.
And decent bathrooms, obviously. It would be horrible to have my guests using a gross, unisex bathroom.
As for things I want, but don’t need, there are a fair amount.
Space in the barn for both the ceremony and reception would be ideal, so that no one has to be out in the cold and possibly rain.
A staff in place to take down the ceremony arrangements and set up the reception would be helpful, or two seperate spaces. Or both!
Attractive grounds, so that outside pictures can be taken in dry weather.
I would really love a place that won’t charge me a cake cutting fee or corkage fees, but I know that probably won’t happen.
If chairs & tables and such are not included, then the price needs to be cheaper.
Heat would be good, or be allowed to set up portable heaters.
I’d like no restrictions on candles or flowers, if I can.
I think that’s it. If anyone can can help me out, that would be great! Thanks!
