Hey, I'm also from Boston planning a Vermont wedding (at the Alerin Barn). The venue already has lots of great details like twig candelabras and log seating at the ceremony site, so I was hoping to get away with as little as possible in the way of decor...
I am designing our invitations right now, and other paper-product things like table cards. I want the invitations to kind of reflect the atmosphere of the wedding so I was going to do something with a barn on it and a more rustic look than normal invites, and then my fiance and I were talking about having table animals instead of table numbers. I know it sounds kind of ridiculous, but I'm hoping we can pull it off with the right graphics.
@Bostoncupcake: Whoa! We're getting married at the Alerin Barn too!! We should get together to share planning secrets!
Totally not from Vermont, didn't get married there, but please please please one of you have some local Vermont cheeses at your wedding!!! I made DH take me to Vermont (my first time!) last year for my birthday for a cheese tour and it was AMAZING. I'm dying to go back!!!

Anyone else out there planning a rustic barn wedding in Vermont? Trying to get some inspration for the little details for the day. We have until September - but I was thinking of doing some DIY projects through the winter to keep me busy :)
