Lots and lots of black gardening tarps like what the big greenhouse nurseries use for laying their plant flats on. They're thin fabric-like tarps that are light and do wonders for covering stuff up. You'll need quite a bit but I suggest to talk to some nurseries and see if you could just borrow some...even if you only get enough to cover up the high-traffic areas. Oh and for the dance floor area, you can use plywood! :)
Hope that helps!

June 2011, I am having my wedding reception in a barn. All the planning has been easy so far, except for ideas on the flooring. The barn floor is dirt, and I would like to cover it with something to keep everyone and everything from being dirty. I can't use hay, straw or sawdust due to allergies.
We have thought about using black landscaping cloth to cover it. Anyone have any ideas that will be easy on the budget and look nice? Covering 3600 sq ft. Thanks for the help!!
