i am looking for a rustic barn like setting for my wedding reception, in sept. 2012. can anyone help with this, i am finding it really hard to fine somewhere to have it that holds around 200 people.

@kschulmer: I realize this isn't exactly Rochester, but a friend of mine got married at 'The Barn' near Ithaca about 10 years ago: http://www.thebarnparty.com. It's a great place and I am pretty sure it's affordable. The one drawback I recall is that its located off of a street that can have trucks driving by occasionally.

I know you can also rent out the pavillions at Watkins Glen State Park. We had a family reunion there a few years ago and it was great. Very rustic and affordable.
