Im not all that familiar with Fairfax Corner...but I know that there are some good bars in Reston Town Center. I live in Falls Church (about 10-15 mins from Fairfax) and would be happy to meet up for a happy hour if you wanted to meet new people :) PM me if youre interested!
Auld Shebeen(sp?) is popular with the GMU crowd :) It's been a while since I moved to NC from NoVA but I remember that! Also check out Old Town Alexandria- tons of great bars and pubs, plus an amazing waterfront! My favorite place ever :)

Hmm I live in the tysons corner/ falls church area.
Most often we go to Ballston, Clarendon or U Street for bars. There really aren't any local bars we frequent.
Welcome! We live in Alexandria, and, as PPs recommended, both Old Town and Reston Town Center are pretty awesome. I think you're closest to Reston, and there is a really cool wine bar that we adore.
@twentyeleven: Auld Shebeen most definitely. Also Hard TImes, which is also in Fairfax City. Over across from Mason, Brion's Grille and Fat Tuesdays are also fun - but I haven't been there since college and am not sure how student - oriented they are. Head out to Centerville and go to Ned Devine's. That's a good time.

Auld Shebeen and Hard Times are usuapick good picks. I used to live in Fairfax and went to both of those pretty often. Sully's in Chantilly isn't bad either when they have a good band. It's more of a mom and pop place but the food is good and they're big supporters of local music.

Hi Ladies, My FI and I are new to the fairfax area and we were trying to see where the 20 somethings typically go on the weekends? We're right at Fairfax corner but we see how pricey things can get. Any good local bars where the college kids/recent grads hang out? We'd like to make some friends asap since family is back in Michigan!
