- Wedding: September 2011
I was all about to put a deposit on a bartending company I have been talking to for a while, and everything was going great until their last email said they “recomend” we use bottled beer, and pre-mix our signature cocktail. We are on a budget, but they were one of the more expensive companies, and are coming 80 miles. They appear to be very high end, and very helpful, but that just made me think twice. I have NEVER been to a wedding where the bartenders poured bottle beer, and just poured the cocktails like that. One of our beers I dont even know if it comes in bottles. It is from a brewery in my hometown where the wedding is. They said it was because they would have to hire another bartender to work the kegs, which would add 1/3 to our bill. They were already changing after tax and tips ~$600
I talked to another bartending company that is still open for that day closer to the venue through email, and they quoted me ~$400, and that included an extra hour. They had no problem with the kegs, or drink, in fact they said 2 signature drinks, and would give me a few inexpensive ptions they have found to be favorites. Only issue I have is they have NO website, FB page, reviews anywhere. At first I thought it might be a scam company, but they only want $50 to reserve the date, and reast payable on arrival. Also they are willing to meet with us before signing a contract.
Has anyone delt with a newer company like that? I am just not used to NO internet presence other than ads.
Any suggestions? THank you!
