Yes. Our wedding date in 2015 is being impacted. We went to view the other two options on Thursday and I was completely upset. I was the most upset by the inconsistent and confusing story about why the Courtyard is no longer being used. At first I was told it was being renovated, which made sense and I could completely understand that. When I got there on Thursday, I was told it is no longer an option ever. Basically, they are taking all the bricks out and restoring the space to its original use. At this point, I have had the venue booked for more than six months. I am someone who wants to get things done. This is a complete upset and now I am looking for an alternative option. Personally, I do not feel comfortable with either option. The pavillion is way out of the way for the guests. Unless they decided to put trees up, the space in front of the barn is not up to my liking either because of the parking lot. I am sure you can make these spaces work, but my question is how much money will that cost me. Also, I have lost complete trust in the venue and do not feel like they are being transparent with the situation. I am also scared about what new ideas and projects will impact the space. They say that there are all tehse plans in the making, but I want a wedding venue, that is able to show me what I am getting. Ideas are just ideas. They do not mean anything to me until I can actually have proof that they will happen. If anyone has ideas of how to make the space usable I would love to hear. Maybe I am just not creative enough. Unfortunately, I would not have booked Bartram’s if these were my two options. The intimacy of the Courtyard was my selling point, and the charm. I know that the Courtyard will still be there and I will be completely upset about not using it. Well thanks for letting me rant. I would love to hear people’s opinions and ideas. At this point, I feel a million steps behind and mad.

So happy I was not the only one who was completely disappointed. It was a joke. After all my tears we decided to look at Front and Palmer (indoor, loft space). It was completely different from Front and Palmer, but we wanted to stay in the city. Like you, it was more expensive, but at this point I will pay for a better experience. I have seen pictures of Appleford Estate. It is beautiful. I am just happy we were both able to get our dates and book in places we liked. I have a feeling this plan will not stick at Bartram’s and the original plan of using the Courtyard will continue. For a bit of time I thought they were trying to get us out to use the space for someone they knew, because of how obsurd the options were. I never knew wedding plannind would be so stressful. Keep me updated! I bet your wedding will be great. I was just moving forward with the idea that these things happen for a reason. I just feel bad for other brides who do not luck out like we did with finding a venue they love.

This is exaclty why we decided not to go here. After we saw the venue we decided to go to the John James Audubon Center. It’s a lot more spacious and the barn was updated without feeling “new” and was climate controlled, unlike the barn at Bartrams. Their pavilion is covered and beautiful, but open on the sides so it feels open, like a tent, but more solid. They are soley catered by Jefferey Miller, but the food is DELICIOUS and fresh. They were very flexible with our menu and pricing. Also, it’s BYO so it saved us a lot of money. I’m not sure how the price compares in the end, but it’s absolutely worth loking into.
