Those are so cute! But I was wondering, is there a difference between a regular bikini and a maternity bikini?
I love that gray one! But, gray is my favorite color, so I may be baised. :-)
Could you not just find a cute bikini that you like and then it will also work post-baby? Have you tried Victoria's Secret??
I bought a full coverage bikini. I guess I was worried about how my belly button will look and I felt more comfortable with that. I got mine at Motherhood. Have you looked at Old Navy's line? They have really cute mix and match suits!
OK, to be frank, I'll need a maternity bikini. I don't want to be too explicit, but trust me when I say that I need WAY more support up top than I did previously. Without a wide halter type band and mega coverage, it would be a really ugly sight on the Mexican Riviera!
'Nuff said?
MS- The twisted tankini top is kind of cute! Sigh, though, I really wanted something with a little extra special flair, you know?

And, on that website they have a blue bikini just like the orange picture above, but offered in different sizes. (go under bikini and one pieces) (I have to say that model looks much better in that one than the model they use for the blueish one...:S)
Also have you tired peainapod.com though they are cute, but kind of expensive.
the only other thing I can think of is amazon

Doesn't really have any flair though, but nice price...
Hmmm....I'm afraid I won't be much help with specifics but I vote for a bikini! Rock the baby belly!
I'm a large.... where is that orange one from! ha :)
I wear a 34 C/D normally - so even in non maternity have a hard time finding cute bikinis that have support and don't 'bare all' I like to cover them up - but still be sexy :)
I've been really happy with Athleta. You can click to view specifically C/DD styles.
Here's a link to the category: http://athleta.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=46667
They can be expensive - but you should be able to wear it after baby???? Plus they have a lot on sale right now. http://athleta.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=49939
I know it's boring black... but their twistini is SUPER flattering. They have it in other colors too http://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=49939&vid=1&pid=713549
I have this one and it fits SO SO SO SO SO nice. Seriously - I paid full price for it and DO NOT REGRET. http://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=49939&vid=1&pid=700882
What about this one: http://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=49939&vid=1&pid=684425
The company has amazing customer service too. And shipping is much cheaper now that Gap bought them.
My issue is finding a suit for swimming laps. I'll probably end up with a bikini - but I want it to be more sporty so I don't get too many looks!
Good Luck!
I would definitely rock the grey one if I were pregnant!! I love the spaghetti straps on it...it brings a nice, sexy appeal to it while staying covered! I definitely say they grey one :)
Is it gross if I suggest Ebay or a used one? I'm a firm believer in color-safe bleach =]
(very cute!)
And this one is SUPER cute. Those ruffles are adorable: http://cgi.ebay.com/LIZ-LANGE-MATERNITY-TANKINI-SWIMSUIT-TOP-NEW-BLK-M_W0QQitemZ380200519334QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_CSA_WC_Swimwear?hash=item5885b786a6
I had one just like the grey one only in black when I was pregnant. I just went and got a large tankini instead of spending all the money on one that was "maternity". I thought the regular one just in a larger size gave me coverage and I had a baby in September so I was pretty big for most of that summer.
It doesn't look like lands end has maternity suits, but they do tend to have more supportive bikini tops.
Thanks for all the amazing leads. Do you think there are local places to try on the Athleta suits so that I could be more confident in ordering a non-maternity suit? They have lots of cute possibilities!
And the Lands End might be perfect too... I'm going to have to check those out.
As for used... well... I just can't imagine going there :)
@DG: I'm with you girl! I see bathing suits at the thrift shops and I gag a little bit. There are some things I am just not willing to reuse!!
DG--Not sure what size you need but here's the orange one in a Small...

The same suit is also available here in blue:

I've been on the look out for a cute maternity suit myself and they are really hard to find!
I actually love the orange one.. its super cute.. i wish i had a baby belly.. i would so rock the orange one.. i dont know why pregnant woman cover the cute belly.. this is the only time you can walk around and you dont have to suck your stomach in.. plus you wont feel fat cause you are pregnant..and its soo cute..
Thanks Sinitsa- that's kind of how I feel :) and thanks Derby for the new link. I also finally found the orange in all sizes with a wrap, should I so choose to wear it. Now I just have to convince my honey that it's not too revealing. He favors the tankini look for the coverage... :)
I was going to say I love the orange until I read and realized it only came in large, but if you found it with a wrap I would definitely get it. It looks so fun, good on support, and if there is a time to walk around on a beach with a belly, being pregnant is it. I love being on the beach & seeing expectant moms to be in a two-piece!
I finally bought a non-maternity suit today. I couldn't decide on the tankini or the bikini version. I got the tankini, but I still might go back for the bikini top.
Sooo cute, and I think you should go back for that bikini top ;)
The bikini top was excellent. I liked it slightly better than the tankini. I just wanted to err on the side of being more conservative in Mexcio (and for my dear partner who can be kind of shy!)... Didn't want to offend any locals with my in their face baby belly!
I got a swimsuit from J Crew and it had tons of support on the top and hid/held the girls really well, so it worked for me! It was something like this:
The wide band halters are awesome. And my boobs got quite large! Regularly a C and went to an E/F!!!!
Sorry to ick you out about the "used" swimsuit idea =]. The last one was new though, to be fair! Stuff doesn't ick me out now that I've learned how disgusting things that I normally go near are =]
That swimsuit is REALLY cute! I like it!
They have a bunch of patterns and solid colors. And it is pretty darned reasonably priced!

The challenge:
My partner and I are going on a babymoon at the end of February. I am searching for a maternity bathing suit that is 1) flattering 2) relatively inexpensive 3) Not from Target, Destination or Motherhood (since I've already exhausted these as resources).
I want to feel attractive and not like I'm smuggling a beer gut!
Can you help? Here's what I've liked so far:
The orange bikini sadly only can be found in large...
The full coverage is cute but maybe not flattering enough
and the grey isn't that interesting (but nice style and just slightly out of price range).
