I have this on my to-do list but I’m quickly running out of time so I’m curious if bees thought they were worth it!

@phillybride61513:  If it’s a long reception I like them. After several hours of dancing, I like to be able to re-hairspray my hair, pin it up… freshen the underarms… whatever. Makes end of the night photos decent! 🙂 But I’ve been to a 3 hour reception with a basket and thought it was a pretty big waste of money. I can go 3 hours without an extra piece of gum, ya know?

i think you can provide a simple basket and it’s still pretty useful.  i had a little more in mine. static guard, spray deodorant, bandages, neosporin, allergy meds, lint brush, pain meds, imodium, hair ties, tampons, panty liners, nail files, safety pins, hair pins, mints, gum, tide sticks, cotton swabs, q-tips…i’m sure i had more and i’m sure i went overboard.  my venue had mouthwash and lotion.  i think the most useful items were the safety pins.  my friend’s dress back zipper busted.  i bought cute wooden baskets and painted them.  yes i went overboard.

i also made out of town bags with snacks, first aid kits, weekend info, and a hangover kit that included the world health organization’s rehydration solution and hair ties.  i heard the hangover kits were pretty useful the day after.  some of the snacks included movie theater boxes of m&ms.  i have a friend allergic to peanuts so i made sure his bag had plain instead of peanut m&ms.

I haven’t answered because our wedding has not passed, but we will be doing them. I think they make a nice touch, just incase someone has a mishap – worst case scenario is that nobody uses it, and we have some leftover stuff.. but it’s all stuff we use on a daily basis, so not a loss!

Our venue included the bathroom baskets – I think there was fancy hand lotion and soaps. There was also flowers and candles on the basin, it was all very nice!

We did them. For the ladies’ room, I had nail files, a little bottle of scented body spray, bobby pins, safety pins, tampons, mints, tissues, bandaids, a Tide stain stick, Advil, clear nail polish for stocking runs, and a few other things. Almost all of that was gone (except for the nail polish and tampons) so people must have used it!

For the mens’ room, I had Axe body spray, safety pins, tissues, bandaids, a Tide stain stick, Advil, a big package of combs, mints, and because Darling Husband and I are huge nerds, a bunch of comic books. The basket was completely empty. I am so curious as to what the guys did with the comic books since I didn’t see anyone with one!!

@MrsBeck:  I’m running out of time AND money, lol. I also had them on my to-do list, but will probably end up not doing them. Our venue has really nice bathrooms anyway.

I plan on it and have already gotten the products I plan to put out (I mainly got travel size items from target) I think it’s a kind gesture and our guests will appreciate it! I think there’s a lot of little odds and ends that guests might need and might not have on them 🙂

We will not being doing them because the bathrooms in our venue are not solely for our event. There will be several receptions going on in the hotel at once and I don’t want to provide something for my guests they may never get to use because other guests poached it.

The bathroom counters were pretty small at my venue so we did Bath and Body Works foaming soap, lotion, and body spray in three different flavors and then I had a candle burning in each bathroom.  I had soo many comments about how wonderful the bathrooms smelled!  It was so funny!!  People loved it!!

We had them and eveyone commented on them, it was all dollar store stuff, but came in handy. especially the wrapped flosssers and gum. DH likes a cigar on special occasions, so we put some in the men’s of course they were all gone, so someone enjoyed them, which is why we did  it

If you have this on your list and are running out of time a great option is to buy a pre-made one. There are company’s out there who sell them already made and will customize them to your wedding budget and colors and even deliver them to your venue. As a wedding planner, I always stress to my brides the importance of “picking your battles.” You have so much on your to-do list in the weeks leading up to your event that delegating or hiring someone to take some of it off your plate when you can is so important. It can make the difference between enjoying the wedding planning process and DREADING it. This is supposed to be a fun time in your life so don’t let all the little tasks drag you down.
