We just got our bathroom remodeled, which was very much needed. Part of the floor was missing, there were gaping holes in the walls around the toilet, our toilet and sink/vanity were probably about 20 years old. It was just not good.
Here’s a before and after.
And just because I love my new toilet area. 😛
Next week we’re taking down the shower door so we can get a curtain instead, and painting. My husband has absolutely no opinion on anything and says as long as he can bathe and use the bathroom then he doesnt care what it looks like, and I am completely indecisive and have been told many a time that I have “gloriously tacky” taste, so I need some help. Haha.
Here’s my three favorite looks in order of how much I like them.
Tie dye shower curtain (which is so very me its ridiculous,) with grey walls. It matches everything I already have in the bathroom, so I wouldnt have to get any any new accessories.
This shower curtain with light aqua walls. I’d have to get new bathroom accessories to match though.
Wall color like this.
Or this shower curtain with the same colored walls as above. Might get an aqua colored shower liner to go behind it.
I know most people are going to say either option 2 or 3, but I’m still curious which you guys like best.

I just looked at them side by side, and I’m thinking the disco ball one might look best with the floor color. Hmm.

allyfally: I love that you are daring with your fashion sense!! I do however think the chevron pattern with the aqua walls will be darling. but truly as long as you love it Who care!! You know best!!
p.s. If I was daring I would totally do the tie dye curtain!!

dgplmr86: Haha, I’m a coloraholic. I always tell people that my favorite color is rainbow.
I’d be perfectly happy living in this!

allyfally: I would be perfectly INSANE!! I love the idea of it though! Haha!!!

allyfally: what colour is your shower tray? it looks rose in the pic – i could be wrong though! – i know its not typically a ‘bathroom’ colour but have you thought about using the rose colour on the walls to accent the shower tray?? the mirror ball shower curtain would look awesome with that!! also – is there colour on the walls in the shower? if there is you wouldnt necisarrily need a liner as the colour would show through the curtain from the wall.

weird_bunny: It is a rose color, but I absolutely hate it. Its a nasty pinkish brownish. Eventually we’re going to replace the shower, so I dont want to accent the pink or anything.
dgplmr86: lol, Thats what my mom always says. I just cant do plain or neutral colors. Never could.

I like the disco ball, it’s still a little more daring to suit your personality. Plus, you can eventually paint the walls more or less any color and it should still coordinate.

allyfally: So I LOVE the disco ball curtain. With that said, the chevron is more uni-sex, so I would probably go with that, since it is a shared space by so many (you guys, guests, etc).

allyfally: Oh my heck, the chevron shower curtain is almost exactly like our livingroom curtains! Only without that awesome blue stripe!! Well, I tell ya, I just hate tie dye so I vote “no” on that. I love the chevron, of course, but if you’re daring I’d say do the disco ball. That is a super cool curtain!

allyfally: Good for you girl! The most daring I got in our bathroom remodel was the blue mosaic mirror. I frickin love mosaics though! The before was lime green, I HATED it, but I also am not a morning person and hiss at the bright colours so early, you probably would have loved it.
Based on what you’ve said, I vote tye dye! It’s totally you abd would look great! It’s not too much because the rest of your bathroom is neutral, and really, if you don’t like it after a while just change it. Shower curtain is an easy fix! Disco is second choice, I don’t like the chevron, I know it’s ‘hip’ right now… just not for me.

my upstairs hallway bathroom is decorate in brights: this is the shower curtain in that bathroom. (no kids yet, i picked it when i bought my house, before DH moved in with me.)
i used to be such a huge fan of tiedye, but i am not anymore. i like colors also, but would pick a different pattern.
if you love tiedye, you should go for it.

OUgal0004: lol, We’re the kind of people that when we have a baby we’re doing the nursery rainbow themed, boy or girl. So that doesnt really bother us. Our old bedding set had butterflies all over it. 😛
RedHeadKel: Haha, I really didnt even think that the disco ball curtain was bold! I just thought it was kind of average.
winterwoodlandbride15: Your bathroom is gorgeous! And from what I can see of the mirror, it is beautiful. Your comment about hissing at bright colors made me giggle. I’m so the opposite. Neutral kind of colors make me depressed after too long. My dad is a very “brown” person, and I hate staying at his place for too long.
ajillity81: That curtain is adorable!
I’m not so much a fan of tie dye as I am rainbows in general. If I could find a nice, cheap rainbow one then I would go with it instead of the tie dye. But the only ones I’ve found are either crazy expensive, or just ugly.
