Can anyone recommend their day of wedding coordinator? I am thinking of hiring one and would love any recommendations. Thanks!

I would highly recommend Brenda of Kuga Design.  She has been an amazing DOC so far and we're not even to the wedding yet!  Brenda has gone out of her way and gone above & beyond the call of DOC duty.  I am certain I'm in fabulous hands for the big day.  Once we had our initial meeting, a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders.  She's super responsive and full of great ideas in addition to being super organized.  Her contact info is below.

What is a reasonable price for a DOC in the Bay Area? (I'm getting married in SF.  My budget is tiny, but I am hoping to have some help on the day of the wedding).

aAll the DOC around here I found run 1600 and up. That's a thrid of my budget! I lucked out and ran into an old employee who's doing my wedding in (gulp) 18 days.  She's been fabulous at minding all the details-even coming to help assemble programs!  When are you getting married ablossoms?  If it's soon, I can ask if she'd be willing to do another?  She's planning a move to Seattle this fall though.

    Hi sl33py247,

I'm a DOC in the SF/Bay Area who offer exeptionally lower rates because I do wedding coordinating as a hobby and is still building my wedding coordinating portfolio. (My wedding is 9/13/08 so please don't think that I'm a vendor lurking around these boards for business) I've been in the business for approx. 6 months and I already have a fair amount of weddings that I've done and scheduled to do. I offer free consultations so please don't hesitate to reach me at gtmonki at gmail dot com.

Hope to hear from you soon,

     Gina

    Hi there,

I am also a San Francisco Bay Area Wedding Coordinator, and I simply cannot stay away from this blog and the boards here...I love them!  (I don't consider myself a "lurker".  Bay Area DOC's : wedding doc Icon Wink)

My two cents: hiring a Day-of Coordinator is probably one of the best investments you can make in your wedding day, and I'm not saying this because I am one!  It is the only true way to ensure that your wedding day is stress-free and seamless.  On another note, I would encourage you to meet with as many coordinators as possible before you make your final selection.  It is very important that you click with your coordinator as she/he will be acting as your advocate and your agent on one of the most important days of your life.

Best of luck to you and congratulations!!

I'm using Lisa from Bellisima Vita Weddings.  She has been a life saver!  She was also the most reasonable quote I got - but she's worth a billion more!

I thought I'd bump this post up, to get more recommendations for DOCs in the Bay Area.

I had a very stressful Friday night, where my mother proved she can't be trusted to handle simple logistics planning, so now I've realized I can't do everything myself, but also can't trust my mom and aunts to handle the day-of set up, as I'd been planning.

Please post your additional DOCs for me to research, thanks!

Mine's Patty Lee... www.8events.com. I'm just using her as a Day of Coordinator but she's been very responsive and helpful so far via email and a couple of in-person meetings. Her prices are up on the website which I have found to be reasonable.

I ended up booking Brenda from Kuga Designs as my DOC and my florist.  She was absolutely awesome.  I knew that I didn't want to worry about things on my wedding day (especially since I was planning from another state and was pressed for time) and she was superorganized.  I admit I can be a little OCD, but she sent me a timeline to fill in and questions prior to the wedding so everything ran really smoothly.  I gave her all the 'things' (favors, programs, decorations, namecards, etc) a few days before the wedding and didn't worry again!  Absolutely worth it.

(Another thread completely, but just to throw it out there - her flowers were amazing too)
