    Hi ladies,

    I'm looking for an indoor location to take pictures on Saturday that has the feel of city hall-- grand staircase, beautiful architecture, windows etc.  The ceremony is in Oakland, but we will travel into the city to do pics at the Palace of Fine Arts and are thinking Legion of Honor is a good alternative, but I'd like one indoor location and one outdoor location.  Anyone have any suggestions for beautiful hotels, etc?

    (My fiance grew up in the Bay Area, but I'm from San Diego and we live in Boulder, CO... so I'm not SUPER familiar with the Bay Area in general.)

    @lyzziebeth: I wish!  They're not open on Saturdays to the general public.  :(  But thanks anyways.

    @EMTBoff84: and

    @ostrich: Those are some good suggestions.  I had thought of the Palace, but I'm not sure how it would look with people in it... Anyone seen any pictures of the garden court with the focus being on people?  I'm afraid all the ornateness and beautiful work are all too high and won't be captured.

    The Fairmont is a good choice-- maybe we'll do the Fairmont with Grace Cathedral....

    Call ahead if you're going to try to go to the hotels or privately owned businesses (and are wearing the fully white regalia/too obvious to slip by).  They might not let people do photo shoots if they're not paying for their facility.

    You can check and see if anything is going on at the ballet or opera where the doors would be open.

    This one is outdoors, but the stairs of Grace Cathedral are pretty awesome.

    FWIW, in case you don't find the perfect stairs, I wasn't wild about our "grand staircase" pics.  It's hard to get the magnificent staircase in the shot w/o having the couple be too tiny to appreciate.
